Clarified Vinyl Plastisol specification. GENERAL: This standard covers Open and Closed Clamps designed to fa

4、sten and securely hold cables, wire harnesses, tubing, hose, engine accessories, etc. Coated clamps, though more costly initially, provide protection from abrasion and corrosion and also provide electrical insulation, sound abatement, and some shock absorption. GAP (Closed Clamps): Light Duty Series

5、 - 1.6 mm (.062 inch). Medium Duty Series - 0.8 mm (.031 inch) for clamping diameters 3.2 mm (1/8 inch) through 7.9 mm (5/16 inch) and 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) for clamping diameters 9.5 mm (3/8 inch) through 50.8 mm (2 inches). CLAMP MATERIAL: Steel, Grade 1C, Temper No. 4, CEMS A-6, Part I. COATING MATE

6、RIAL: The following alternate coating materials, in accordance with the specification shown for each, may be furnished: Vinyl Plastisol per TMS-6007, Type 1, Grade C - Adhesion to the metal must be sufficient to prevent removal of coating without destroying the coating. Nominal thickness 0.8 + 0.25

7、- 0.3 mm (.031 + .010 - .012 inch). Color: black. Maximum service temperature approximately 110C (200F). Latex-Grade LSC 515 K1 per SAE J19. Suffix K1 requires adhesion as above. Minimum thickness 0.6 mm (.025 inch). Color: black. Maximum service temperature approximately 110C (225F). Polyethylene c

8、oating is an acceptable alternate for clamps manufactured outside of North America. The coating coverage is to extend a minimum of 270 degrees around the clamping diameter with the clamp in the open position. There will be no bare metal contact allowed between the clamp and the clamped element in th

FINISH: Clamps will be furnished plain or plated in accordance with the CEMS and class listed below: Zinc Trivalent (ZN6A) CEMS G-20, Class 6A Phosphate Coating (PHC) CEMS G-1, Class B-1 RESTRICTED CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES: Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the require

10、ments of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. WORKMANSHIP: Clamps must be reasonably free from burrs, loose scale, sharp edges, and all other defects that might affect their serviceability.
