11、e the ned for high-eficiency removal of gaseous con-taminants is a requirement. Thre types of modular cels are discused in detail. 1.1 Classification Adsorber cels described in this RP have ben clasi-fied into four types, namely: a) Type I (serpentine-bed) cel (aplication specific) b) Type I (flat-b
12、ed or tray-type) cel c) Type II (not discused in detail) d) Type IV (ve-bed) cel The four types of adsorber cels, though difering in their respective configurations, have comon features and components. 1.2 Adsorbent specifications Test requirements of this RP cover the cel as filed with granular act
13、ivated carbon. Typicaly, the carbon used in adsorber cels manufactured in acordance with this RP is sized to 8 16 US mesh. Performance of the cel for a specific contaminant is a function of the adsorbent used and the operating conditions. These conditions should be specified in adition to the re-qui

These adsorber cels require prior qualification of the cel design and carbon filing method. The manufac-turer should perform production airflow resist
