SCOPE. This commercial item description covers ha

2、nd files used for filing acute angles such as inkeyways and slots.2. CLASSIFICATION.Type I Bastard-cutType II Second-cutType 111 Smooth-cut3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.a71 3.1 Desire. The file shall have a knife cross-section with an included angle between sides of 9-15,inclusive. Each wide flat doubl

3、e-cut (two sets of parallel cuts on the surface, one set crossing the other.)the thin flat side shall be single-cut (one set of parallel cuts on the surface). The back shall be single-cutor smooth (safe). The file shall be furnished in three types and Thickness (B) files 6“ in length +/- 1/32”lFiles

4、 over 6“ in length +/- 1/16.3.3 Material. The file shall be of a carbon alloy steel.3.4 Shall be of a conventional shape and size suitable for attachment to a wood handle.Tempered to a maximum hardness of 45 on the Rockwell C scale when tested per ASTM El 8. It shallbe measured at a point approximat

5、ely midway of its length and width.3.5 = Shall be designed for fast cutting and minimize clogging. Uniformly cut or etched and ofuniform height throughout the fully cut portion. Cutting surfaces shall be hardened to a uniformhardness. The distance between the heel and point of the file, excluding th

6、e tang, shall be hardened tonot greater than 68 nor less than 64 on the Rockwell C scale when tested per ASTM E 18, The tile shallbe free from decarburization and brittleness.3.6 Marking. The tile shall be marked with the name of the manufacturer or with a trademark of suchknown character that the s

7、ource of manufacture maybe readily determined.3.7 Workmanship. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal acquisition Regulation(FAR).4.2 Metric

Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basiswith those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified(using conversion tables Contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376) and all otherrequirements of

10、this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and thosedimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch- poundunits, a request should be made to thecontracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.5. 13、e Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections deemednecessary to assure the item conforms to the specified requirements.6. PACKAGING.
