SCOPE. This commercial item description covers

2、hand tiles used for general purpose filing on flatand concave surfaces.2. CLASSIFICATIONType I Bastard-cutType H Second-cutType III Smooth-cut3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.e 3.1 Design. The file shall be tapered in width at least 1/3 of the length to the point. Either parallel inthickness or tapered Sl

3、ightly form approximately the middle of the length to the point. Flat side shall bedouble-cut (two sets of parallel cuts on the surface, one set crossing the other.The back side (convex side) shall be double-cut, except that second-cut files in 4 and 6 inch length andall smooth-cut files may be sing

4、le-cut (one set of parallel cuts on the surface), or double-cut, at theoption of the manufacture. 13、evidence ofmstor other defect which rnayimpair semiceability, durabi1ityorappearance.4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.4.1 Recovered Materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal acquisition Re

14、gulation(FAR).4.2 Metric Products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basiswith those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances speci tied(using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376) and

15、all otherrequirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and thosedimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch- pound units, a request should be made to thecontracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE.5.1 Prod

16、uct Conformance. Theproduct provided shall meet thesalient characteristics oftllisCommercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawing, specifications, standards, andquality asswace practices, mdbethe smeproduct offered forsale inthe commercial market. Thegovernment reserwes the right t

17、o require proof of such conformance.5.2 Responsibility for Inspection. Unless othemise specified, thecontractor irresponsible fortlle.performance of all inspection requirements and may use any commercial faci Iities (including thecontractors own facilities) suitable for performance of the inspection

18、 requirements, unless disapprovedby the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections deemednecessary toassure theitem confoms tothe specified requirements.6.
