SCOPE 1.1 a. This commercial ite

2、m description covers wooden dowel rods for general purpose use. 2. CLASSIFICATION . 2.1 (Ilassification The dowel rods shall be of the following type and diameter, *. as specified (see 7.2). Unless otherwise specified (see 7.21, the wood species shall be at the option of the manufacturer and of the type accepted within in

4、dustry for the manufacture of this product. 3.2 Uook/Row. The dowel rod shall have no crook exceeding 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) and no bow exceeding 3/4 inch (19.0 mm) in 36 inches (914.4 mm). a. Crook is any discreet departure of the dowel axis from a straight line extending through the center of the dowel

5、 ends, within the dowel length. b. Bow is any continuous departure of the dowel axis from a straight line extending through the center of the dowel . ends, in the overall dowel length. % 3.3 Cross ur a. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The metric values stated in parentheses are for information purposes only. 3.7

Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those

9、dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. . 11、 conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 6. Rod dowels conforming to this commercial item description shall be identified by a part number configuration consisting of identification of a portion of the CID number, type, and diameter.
