The materials used in the manufacturing of the wrenches shall be such as to producewrenches conforming to the physical requirements hereinafter described.3.4 Marking. Each wrench shall be marked on one of the faces or on the handle as close to each head a

7、sis practicable in a plain and permanent manner. In addition to size markings, each wrench shall bemarked in a plain and permanent manner with the manufacturers name or trademark of such knowncharacter that the source of manufacture maybe readily determined.3.5 Hardness. Wrenches shall be treated to

8、 a Rockwell C hardness not less that 38 nor more than 55when tested per ASTM-E- 18.3.6 Tomue Loads. When tested as specified in ASME-B 107.6, the wrenches shall withstand the proofloads specified in the included table without failure or permanent deformation which might affect thedurability or servi

9、ceability of the wrenches3.7 Wrench Opening. The nut and bolt head-engaging surfaces of the open end wrench shall be finishedin a smooth and well-defined manner. The tips (working ends) of all open end wrenches shall also bechamfered or rounded to eliminate burrs. Wrench opening tolerances shall be

10、such as to insureacceptance when gaged with gages conforming to ASME B 107. 17M.3.8 Finish.3.8.1 Surface Finish. The coating shall be adherent, smooth,free from uncoated areas, pits, blisters, nodules, and any other defects which wouldinterfere with their protective value a

12、nd serviceability.3.8.2.1 Black Oxide. Oxide coated wrenches shall have. a coating consisting of a chemically producedoxide followed by a coating of rust preventive.4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.4.1 Recovered Material. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent

13、 practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal acquisition Regulation(FAR).5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE.5.1 Product Conformance. The product provided shall meet the salient characteristics of thisCommercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawing, specifications, standards

14、, andquality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. Thegovernment reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.5.2 Responsibility for Inspection. Unless otherwise specified, the contractor is responsible for theperformance of all inspection

15、 requirements and may use any commercial facilities (including thecontractors own facilities) suitable for performance of the inspection requirements, unless disapprovedby the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections deemednecessary to assure the item conilorms

16、 to the specified requirements.6. PACKAGING. Preservation, packaging and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.7. NOTES.
