PURPOSE This standard aims at examining adhesion of plating layer after performing the specified adhesion test to the plating layer on the metallic and non-metallic (plastic) base. 2. SCOPE This standard specifies the method of adhesion te

3、st for plating applied to the metallic and non-metallic (plastic) base. 3. DEFINITIONS 3.1. Adhesion Adhering force between plating layers and between plating layer and base. 3.2. Thermal cycle test A test to examine the adhesion of plating while testing the plastic specimen by maintaining the tempe

4、rature at two or more kinds of the specified temperature and at room temperature alternately. 3.3. Saw-grind test A test to be performed to the products having plating layer on base metal and to examine the adhesion of plating layer when sectioning the product at right angles to the plating layer us

5、ing a saw. 4. TEST PIECE 4.1. The test piece shall be tested as the finished parts if possible. 4.2. When size and shape of the parts affect the test of the finished parts, the test piece shall be constructed by sectioning the parts. In this case, the edge may not deform and not be overheated. And s

6、ectioned surface shall be protected by an appropriated method (adhesive tape or protective coating) during the test. 4.3. For the first approval, at least 3 test pieces and for the routine quality control, at least 1 test piece shall be tested. 5. TESTING METHOD 5.1. Thermal cycle test 5.1.1. Set th

7、e temperature of the equipment at the specified temperature. 5.1.2. Prepare the test piece. 5.1.3. Put the test piece into the equipment. 8、 Leave the test piece at room temperature. 5.1.5. Perform the test at the specified temperature for the specified cycle. Note 1) The temperature and cycle of the thermal cycle test shall conform to the specification in connection with the products or shall be agreed upon between the parties concerne

9、d in special case. 5.2. Saw-grind test 5.2.1. Prepare the test piece. 5.2.2. Fix the test piece to a vise firmly. 5.2.3. Section the test piece at right angles to the plating layer using a specified saw. 5.2.4. Observe the condition of the metal base and plating on the surface visually or using a ma

10、gnifier. 6. APPRATUS Climate chamber: High & low temperature chamber capable of -40 1755K. 7. EVALUATION The evaluation of test results shall conform to the specification in connection with each materials, test or products, or shall be agreed upon between the parties concerned. 8.
