It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by Global Design Standards. 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at correc

3、tly conveying the contents of drawing revisions resulting from a variety of reasons, such as the quality improvement, productivity enhancement and cost and weight reduction, and keeping the reasons and history of drawing revision. 2. SCOPE 2.1. This standard applies to product drawings (hereinafter

4、called “drawings“) released to the Engineering Change Procedures, and may also apply to the layout and package drawings. 2.2. It applies to cases where any letters and figures in the drawing are changed, added, deleted or re-generated. 3. TYPES OF DRAWING REVISION 3.1. Revision of drawing : when the

5、 original drawing is changed as follows: 3.1.1. Change in drawing contents 3.1.2. Addition of drawing contents 3.1.3. Deletion of drawing contents 3.2. Remaking of drawing : when a drawing is redrawn while keeping the previous drawing number 3.2.1. Redrawn with change 3.2.2. Redrawn without change 4

6、. NOTES IN DRAWING REVISION 4.1. Revision shall be made in conformity with the latest drawing standards. 4.2. Relations with other parts, development, assembly, maintenance and other overall effects shall be reviewed fully and carefully. 4.3. The original drawing shall not be damaged and the un-revi

7、sed portions shall not be erased. 4.4. The type of letters and the thickness of lines shall be as similar to the original drawings as possible. 4.5. When parts drawings are revised, the related assembly, instruction or installation drawings shall also be revised. EDS-A-1007DRAWING REVISIONS PAGE: 2/

In the following cases, the revised drawing shall have a new part number or drawing number, not the existing part number or drawing number. 4.6.1. When performance or durability is influenced to an ex

9、tent that existing parts must be scrapped in order to ensure safety or to supplement insufficient function. 4.6.2. When full compatibility with the existing part is not ensured after revision in terms of performance and mounting condition due to changes in part dimensions, material or other characte

10、ristics. 5. REVISION METHOD 5.1. Order of revision registration 5.1.1. Revisions shall be registered from the bottom to the top of the revision table. When the revisions are made frequently to fill up the revision blocks, a new drawing is to be made in principle. 5.1.2. When revisions ought to be re

11、gistered in the same drawing for special reasons, they shall be continued in new blocks just left to them from the left top to the bottom as shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 1. Order of revision registration 5.2. Drawing revision table 5.2.1. All blocks in the revision table shall be filled. Blocks not requiri

12、ng entering shall be filled with a dash or vertical line. 5.2.2. In case a number of revision items occur at the same time, or when the recording must be made through several lines, the date, sign, and ECR number are entered only at the top line and a vertical line is drawn throughout related column

Contents of revision shall be entered in English in a simple and clear manner in principle. When requir

14、ed, both English and Koreans letters may be entered together. 5.3.2. The initial release shall be identified according to the drawing release procedure. In case of revision from PROTO EPI RELEASE to PROTO RELEASE, from PROTO RELEASE to PRODUCTION EPI RELEASE, and from PRODUCTION EPI RELEASE to PRODUCTION REL

16、EASE, drawings shall be released after contents of revision is arranged in the revision table in principle. Drawing revision history may be left intact for special purposes (Ex: When working method and drawing revision history are required due to production line installation, part manufacturing proc

Long contents are entered in two lines bundled by s square bracket on the left. 5.3.6. When the upper and lower tolerances are changed, they shall be recorded in a line continuously,

The ECR (ENGINEERING CHANGE RECOMMENDATION) number relating to the revision shall be entered by the design engineer. 5.

22、4.2. In case an ECR involves several drawing revisions, the ECR number is entered in the top line, and a vertical line is drawn downwards. Fig. 8. 23、ology 5.5. Symbol column 5.5.1. The revision number starts from “1“ in the numerical order. 5.5.2. When a previously revised item in the same zone is revised again, the same previous number shall be used. Fig. 9. Revision of same contents. 5.6. Indication of revision symbol in drawing 5.6.1. Symbols

24、 at the changed position in the drawing shall be indicated inside a circle. d=8.0mm when h=3.5mm d=10.0mm when h=5.0mm 5.6.2. The revision symbol shall be indicated outside the part outline as long as possible and not be overlapped with other letters. 5.6.3. A revision symbol shall be indicated at o

25、ne place on a drawing in principle. When the same content is revised at several places on a drawing, it shall be entered just once in the revision record column, and the revision symbol shall be indicated at each revised portion. For example, “SURFACE TEXTURE SPEC. ADDED, 5 PLACES“ is recorded in th

26、e drawing revision record column, and the revision symbol is indicated at five places where surface texture specification is added. 5.6.4. For easy identification of revision symbols on a drawing, the width and length zone numbers, which are marked along the drawing border, are entered in a way that

When the contents in the table of a drawing are changed, the revision symbol and zone are not entered but the revised portion is entered specifically in the revision table. Fig. 11. 29、s difficult to recognize the position of the table in a drawing or when a drawing has several tables, the position of tables changed shall be entered in the revision zone column. Fig. 12. The ECR issue date shall be entered by the design engineer in the order of day (two digit figure), month (two alphabetical letters) and year (last two digits of a year). 5.8.2. Abbreviation for month January: JA, February: FE, March: MR, Apr

REDRAWING METHOD In principle, drawings are re-made in the following cases. 6.1. When the

33、 original drawing is lost 6.2. When the original drawing is polluted or damaged to an extent that reproduction is impossible or contents are illegible after reproduction 6.3. After several revisions, or in case a revision requires so many changed portions as to make revision of original drawings nea

34、rly impracticable 6.3.1. Redrawn with change (1) Contents of drawing revision before re-drawing are not recorded in principle. (2) The title block and revision table shall be filled in by the drafter, design engineer, reviewer and approver of drawings at the time of re-drawing. (3) The date when the

35、 re-drawing is completed shall be entered in the drawing date column of the title block. (4) In the first line of the drawing revision table, the initial release date of the original drawing and ECR number shall be entered. (5) In the second line, the latest revision date of the original drawing and

36、 ECR number shall be entered. In the remaining columns of the line, dashes shall be put. (6) In the third line, “REDRAWN“ is entered. Re-drawing detail drawings When it is necessity to make a separate detail drawing of a part whose specifications were contained

Handling of original drawing The original drawing bef

40、ore redrawing shall be marked as in Fig. 19 and handed over to the ERS engineer after signing along with the redrawn drawing. 41、RAWING 7.1. In case of revising drawings made by CAD, CAD data shall be revised accordingly. 7.2. When the entire drawing is plotted again after CAD data is corrected, clause 5 “REVISION METHOD” shall be followed. The design engineer at the time of final revision shall check all items and put his si

42、gn in the signature column of the title block and the top signature line of the drawing revision table. (See Fig. 20) Fig. 20. Re-plotting of a drawing after CAD data correction 7.3. In case of re-making CAD drawings, clause 6 “REDRAWING METHOD” shall be followed. 8. REVISION OF DRAWINGS OF AFFILIATED COMPANIES When drawings of an affiliated company are revised by GMDAT, revision shall be conform to the DMS-E04-01(PREPARING APPROVED PART DRAWINGS).
