SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a needled, moldable padding consisting of predominately synthetic fibers which may have a bilaminate polyester fiber layer needled on one side for decorative

3、purposes. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as engine compartment sound insulators on the 1998 D/EW vehicles. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION

4、MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved design center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineeri

5、ng drawing. 3.5 CONSTRUCTION 3.5.1 Base Pad Homogeneous mixture of 75% minimum synthetic fibers needled together in random orientation. A thermoplastic fiber is included to facilitate the moldable characteristic of this material. 3.5.2 Optional Decorative Facing (Specified on Engineering drawing if

6、required) 100% polyester needled onto base pad.
