1、- Manufacturing Standards V 1. SCOPE This Ford Manufacturing Standard applies to all Ford plants in Europe. This standard defines the 3 safety colours (red, yellow, green), 1 auxiliary colour (blue) and 2 contrasting colours (black, white) to be used for preventing accidents and meeting certain emer

2、gencies which may arise in industry. This standard is in line with IS0 3864, also considered are British Standard BS 5378 and German Standard DIN 4844, parts 1 and 2. Safety colours shall be used to identify areas and items of potential hazard and to indicate the location of devices and equipment of

3、 special importance from the point of view of safety, i.e. fire protection and first-aid equipment, emergency controls and escape routes. For the identification of pipe lines by colours see Manufacturing Standard U-VAOO2-5. Facilities and plant equipment to be identified may be either partly or comp

4、letely painted with safety colours. The safety colour marking must be clear in contrast to the surroundings and be applied in a conspicuous place either on or adjacent to the object to be marked. Where the safety colour marking is not clearly in contrast, a contrast colour should be used to achieve

5、this. Legal requirements of the various countries must be considered. Safety colours are not intended to be substitutes for proper technical accident prevention measures! 7、pipelines; Emergency brakes; Danger switches on electrical equipment; All types of prohibitive signs, e.g. No Smoking, No Passage; Equipment and signs for fire fighting, e.g. stationary or portable fire extinguishers, installations for special extinguishing media, with the exception of normal portab

8、le CO cylinders; Fire alarm boxes and fire alarm equipment; Markings guiding to fire fighting equipment. Safety Colour: Signal yellow RAI, 1003 Warning indicating concealed dangers aud dangerous substances. EXAMPLES FOR APPLICATION Danger of fire and explosion! Containers with inf lamable contents,

9、identification of rooms endangered by fire or explosion, e.g. stores or combustible liquids; Danger of chemical attack; Identification of containers with poisonous or caustic substances; Danger of radioactive or X-Ray radiation; containers for radioactive subs tames ; Danger on machines; Interior su

10、rfaces of detachable guards on machines, and the surfaces and machine components covered thereby; sharp edges and moving machine parts; Identification of places involving the danger of bumping, falling, and stumbling, and the dropping of loads, such as passage profile restrictions and structural par

11、ts protruding into traffic zones, girders and pipelines, single steps, the first and last step of stairs, floor hatches, closing edges of horizontally closing lift hatches, exterior crane edge, crane hooks, and conveyor belts. Preferred is the marking with alternating black and yellow stripes. Safet
