2、, STAINLESS - EXTERIOR SCREWS ESB-M1A71-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an austenitic stainless steel that can be cold headed and upset. When given an appropriate surface finish, it shall retain such finish under service conditions. 2. APPLICATI

3、ON This specification was released originally for screws used to attach decorative components, such as trim molding, headlamp door or lamp assemblies and similar items. Units made from this material are not intended for use in tapping operations but for insertion into tapped holes, spring nuts, thre

4、aded clinch nuts, etc. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION Carbon 0.08 max Chromium 15.00 - 17.00 Nickel 17.00 -

5、 19.00 Silicon 1.00 max Phosphorus 0.045 max Sulfur 0.03 max Molybdenum 0.5 max Manganese 2.00 max Copper 0.50 max 3.3 SURFACE FINISH Material supplied to this specification shall be uniform in quality, clean, sound, smooth and free from defects detrimental to performance in fabrication and corrosio

6、n resistance of part for which it is intended. The surface quality of the finished part shall meet visual acceptance standards. Finished parts must be acid passivated to remove all copper plating and metallic inclusions.
