16、regenerallymanufacturedwithinanuppersizelimit irrespectiveoftheformofthecontents.Suchuppersizelimitsaregenerallynotspecifiedfornondangerous contentsthoughtheyarefordangerousgoods.Drumsforexamplearelimitedtoacapacityof450landtoa massofcontentsof400kg; b) Formsoftankincluderoadtankvehicles(e.g.formoto

17、rspirit)andrailtankwagons.Theyalsoinclude portabletankswhichmay,forinstance,besimilartothecontainmentvesselofaroadtankvehiclebutfitted withliftingdevices.Tanksarenormallyregardedasitemsoftransportequipmentratherthanaspackagings andtheirusemaybedescribedastransportinbulk.Insomecircumstanceshowever,su

20、ofthisEuropeanStandard,thetermsanddefinitionsfollowingapply. 2.1 intermediatebulkcontainer(IBC) primarypackagingdesignedto: a) haveacapacityof3m 3 (3000)orless; b) behandledmechanicallywithorwithoutintegralordetachabledevices; c) containliquids,pastesorsolids(forinstancepowdersorgranules); d) beresi

21、stanttothestressesimpartedduringhandlingandtransportasdeterminedbytests. NOTE1 AlowersizelimitisnotspecifiedbutanIBCoflessthan0,25m 3 (250l)isatypicalandmayrequirespecial considerationinrelationtoappropriateperformancetests. NOTE2 IBCsmaybedesignedforsingletripormultitripuse.Theymaybedesignedtofoldd

25、mediatebulkcontainer IBCcomprisingstructuralequipmentintheformofarigidoutercasingdesignedtotakethestressesofdistribution andenclosinganinnerplasticsreceptacledesignedtobeincontactwiththecontents(eitherdirectlyorthroughan innerliner).TheIBCisdesignedsothat,onceassembled,theoutercasingandinnerreceptac
