The connector of aco

14、rd set shall comply with the requirements of IEC 60320-1. The plug connector of an interconnection cord set shall comply with the requirements of IEC 60320-2-2. The cord of a cord set or interconnection cord set shall comply with the requirements of IEC 60227 or IEC 60245. Compliance with the requir

15、ements for plugs, connectors, plug connectors and cords is checked by the tests specified in the relevant standards. During the test of one component, the influence on the other components of the assembly is ignored. The end of a stranded conductor shall not be consolidated by soft soldering at plac

16、es where the conductor is subject to contact pressure unless the clamping means is designed so as to obviate the risk of a bad contact due to cold flow of the solder. 5.2 Requirements for the assembly 5.2.1 Rated voltage The rated voltage of the connector and the cord shall be not less than the rate

17、d voltage of the plug. For interconnection cord sets the rated voltage of the connector and the plug connector shall be the same. 5.2.2 Rated current The rated current of the plug shall be not less than the rated current of the connector. 5.2.3 Class of equipment The plug and the connector shall be

18、of a type intended for the connection of the same class of equipment, as given in IEC 60536. A cord set comprising a connector for class II equipment may, however, comprise a plug for class I equipment according to IEC 60083 or to other three-pin systems. 5.2.4 Marking Plugs, connectors and plug con

19、nectors shall be marked as specified in the relevant standards. Cord sets and interconnection cord sets that are not delivered together with an appliance and of which the plug or the plug connector and the connector have not been made by the same manufacturer shall, in addition, be marked with eithe

20、r the name, trade mark or identification mark of the maker of the complete cord set or interconnection cord set or of the responsible vendor. This marking shall not only be put on the package. NOTE - The marking of the name, trade mark or identification mark of the maker or responsible vendor may fo

21、r example be applied on a sleeve provided around the cord set. I II Plugs, connectors, cord sets or interconnection cord sets for the connection of class II equipment shall not be marked with the symbol for class II construction (the double square). Hot or very hot Cold 5.2.5 Type of cord The cord o

22、f a cord set or interconnection cord set shall be not lighter than the type, and have a cross-sectional area not less than that specified in the following table, depending on the type of connector incorporated in the cord set or interconnection cord set. NOTE - A cord of a lower IEC code designation

23、 (e.9. 60227 IEC 42) is lighter than a cord of a higher code designation (e.g. 60227 IEC 53). Compliance with the requirements of 5.2.1 to 5.2.5 is checked by inspection. 5.2.6 Length of cord The length of the flexible cord of a cord set or interconnection cord set shall be not more than 2 m if the cord has a cross-sectional area of 0,5 mm2 or less. NOTE - Fla

27、t twin tinsel cords, IEC code designation 60227 IEC 41, have a cross-section less than 05 mrn2. 28、nnector respectively. If there is no definite end, the length is measured from the point where the overall diameter is 1 mm more than the outer diameter of the cord. For flat cords, this increased diameter is measured over the larger axis of the cord. Compliance with the requirements is checked by i

29、nspection and measurement. 6 Continuity and polarity In cord sets and interconnection cord sets for use in polarized systems, the continuity between corresponding. plug-pins and connector-contacts shall be maintained correctly in each pole. Compliance is checked by measurement. 7 EMC requirements NO

30、TE - Requirements for accessories incorporating electronic components are not included as the need has not yet been established. 7.1 Immunity 7.1.1 These cord sets and interconnection cord sets are not sensitive to normal electromagnetic disturbances and therefore no immunity tests are required. 31、d sets and interconnection cord sets not incorporating electronic components 7.2 Emission 7.2.1 Cord sets and interconnection cord sets not incorporating electronic components These cord sets and interconnection cord sets are not generating electromagnetic disturbances, consequently no emission test

32、s are necessary. NOTE - These cord sets and interconnection cord sets may only generate electromagnetic disturbances during occasional operations of insertion and withdrawal of the accessories. The frequency, the level and the consequences of these emissions are considered as part of the normal elec

33、tromagnetic environment. 34、utine tests for factory-wired cord sets and interconnection cord sets related to safety (protection against electric shock and correct polarity) A.l General All factory-wired cord sets and interconnection cord sets shall be subjected to the following tests, as appropriate. The test equipment or manu

35、facturing systems shall be such that failed samples are either made unfit for use or separated from satisfactory products in such a way that they cannot be released for sale. NOTE - “Unfit for use“ means that the accessory is treated in such a way that it cannot fulfil the intended function. It is,

36、however, accepted that repairable products (by a reliable system) may be repaired and retested. It shall be possible by process or manufacturing system to identify that accessories released for sale have been subjected to all the appropriate tests. The manufacturer shall maintain records of the test

37、s carried out which show the - type of product; - date of test; - place of manufacture (if manufactured in more than one place); - tested quantity; - number of failures and actions taken, Le. destroyedhepaired. The test equipment shall be checked before and after each period of use and for periods o

38、f continuous use, at least every 24 h. During these checks the equipment shall show that it indicates faults when known faulty products are inserted or simulated faults are applied. Products manufactured prior to a check shall only be released for sale if the check is found satisfactory. Test equipm

39、ent shall be verified (calibrated) at least once a year. Records shall be kept of all checks and any adjustments found necessary. 40、test shall be made using safety extra-low voltage SELV applied for a period of not less than 2 s between the L and N pin or contact and the corresponding L and N pin or contact at each end of the cord set or interconnection cord set. NOTE - The period of 2 s may be reduced to not less than 1 s on te

41、st equipment with automatic timing Other suitable tests may be used. Polarity shall be correct. A.3 Earth (E) continuity The test shall be made using SELV applied for a period of not less than 2 s between the corresponding E pin or contact of the accessory at each end of the cord set or interconnect

42、ion cord set. NOTE - The period of 2 s may be reduced to not less than 1 s on test equipment with automatic timing. Other suitable tests may be used. Continuity shall be present. A.4 Short circuiffwrong connection and reduction in creepage distance and clearance L or N to E The test shall be made be

43、tween the L and N conductors and the E conductor - by applying at the supply end, .e. plug, an a.c. voltage of 2 O00 V f 200 V, 50 Hz or 60 Hz for a period of not less than 2 s, NOTE - The period of 2 s may be reduced to not less than 1 s on test equipment with automatic timing. or - by an impulse v

44、oltage test using 1,2/50 ps wave form, 4 kV peak value, three impulses for each pole, with intervals of not less than 1 s, the test voltage being applied at the supply end, .e. plug or plug connector.
