21、ion where applicable, and specifies the general requirements for power frequency immunity tests for measuring relays and protection equipment for power system protection, including the control, monitoring and process interface equipment used with those systems. The objective of the tests is to confi

22、rm that the equipment under test (EUT) will operate correctly when energised and subjected to short duration, conducted, common and differential mode power frequency disturbances applied to DC status inputs, at the rated frequency of the EUT, for example 16 2 / 3Hz, 50 Hz and 60 Hz. The testing of p

23、ilot wire schemes between substations is not covered by this standard. The requirements specified in this standard are applicable to measuring relays and protection equipment in a new condition and all tests specified are type tests only. The object of this standard is to state: definitions of terms

31、est is not required on DC status input ports which, according to the manufacturers functional specification, always have an interface via multi-core screened or twisted pair (screened or unscreened) cables. 32、rwise stated, no test is required for DC status input ports interfacing with cables whose total length according to the manufacturers functional specification is always less than 10 m. Class A test levels are applicable to substations with high earth fault currents, and where the standard wiring pra

33、ctices allows the DC status inputs to be wired to primary plant auxiliary contacts via open loops. An open loop occurs where the go and return leads are allowed in different multi-core cables, and therefore face the risk of following substantially different paths. This produces a large potential are

34、a of magnetic flux linkage with the primary earth fault current, which causes high levels of power frequency interference. Class B test levels are applicable to either: substations with low earth fault currents, for example substations which use isolated or Petersen coil earthing, or; where wiring p

35、ractice guarantees that the DC status inputs are not wired in open loops. Open loops are avoided by using the go and return wires in the same multi-core cable. This ensures that the go and return routes are essentially identical, and that the area of magnetic flux linkage with the primary earth faul

36、t current is small, thus minimising the levels of power frequency interference. 5 Test equipment Where the test frequency is not that of the available mains distribution network, an alternative test generator will have to be used, for example that described in 6.1.3 of IEC 61000-4-16. 5.1 Test gener

37、ator The test generator typically consists of a variable transformer connected to the mains distribution network and an isolation transformer. The generator should have the following characteristics: Waveform: Sinusoidal, total harmonic distortion less than 10 %. Open circuit output voltage range: 1

38、00 V to 300 V r.m.s. (10 %). Impedance: less than 150 . Frequency: Selected rated frequency (0,5 Hz). On/off output voltage switching: Synchronised at zero crossing (0 10) or increased from zero / decreased to zero (see clause 7). 5.2 Verification of the test generator In order to ensure that the re

39、sults when using different test generators can be meaningfully compared, the following characteristics of the generator shall be calibrated or verified: output voltage waveform; voltage generator impedance; frequency accuracy; open circuit output voltage accuracy. 40、:2003 7 The verifications shall be carried out with a voltage probe and oscilloscope or other equivalent measurement instruments with a minimum bandwidth of 1 MHz. The accuracy of these instruments shall be better than 5 %. 5.3 Coupling networks The coupling networks enable the test voltage to be ap

41、plied in both common and differential mode, see Figures 2, 3 and 4 for typical test set-ups. The networks consist of a resistor and capacitor in series. The values for these components for the tests are shown in Table 1, and the values for each pair of capacitors and resistors should be matched with

42、 a tolerance of 1 %. 6 Test set-up Figures 2 and 3 show typical test set-ups for differential mode tests, and Figure 4 shows a typical test set-up for common mode tests. Connections between the EUT and the coupling network shall be less than 2 m. 6.1 Earthing connections The safety earthing requirem

43、ents of the EUT, the auxiliary equipment and of the test equipment shall be complied with at all times. Additionally, the EUT shall be connected to the earthing system in accordance with the manufacturers specifications. 6.2 Auxiliary equipment All auxiliary equipment, used to provide the EUT with s

44、ignals for normal operation, and to verify the EUTs correct operation, should be decoupled so that the test voltage does not affect the auxiliary equipment. Auxiliary equipment required for the defined operation of the EUT according to the specifications, e.g. communication equipment, modem, printer

45、, etc., as well as auxiliary equipment necessary for ensuring any data transfer and assessment of the functions, shall be connected to the EUT. However, as far as possible the number of cables to be monitored should be limited by restricting attention to the representative functions. 7 Test procedur

46、e The tests shall be carried out at the reference conditions given in IEC 60255-6. The tests shall be carried out with auxiliary energising quantities equal to rated values applied to the auxiliary power supply port. The test generator shall be connected to the DC status input port of the EUT. When

47、this port consists of multiple identical circuits, only a representative number of these circuits, as defined by the manufacturer, need to be tested in order to verify the correct operation of the EUT. The test voltage shall be applied for at least 10 s so that the EUTs operating performance can be

48、verified. The test voltage should be applied as shown in Figures 2, 3 and 4. 49、o to the required level at the start of the test, and decreased to zero at the end of the test. The duration of these start and end phases shall not be included as part of the test time, and they should each have a duration of less than 20 % of the time of the application of the required test voltage.
