24、 the outside of the longer handle oints P1 and Pz in figun 1). 4.4 Clearance in order to aiiow crimping close to the body of large bodied connectors, the tool shall provide clearance in relation to the dies as follows, and as illustrated in figure 2: - a 20 mm square centred on the large die cavity

25、shall be able to approach within 0,4 mm of the die face; - a 40 mm diameter centred on the large die cavity shail be able to approach within 2 mm of the die face. 4.5 Locator The provision of a locator is permitted as a means of locating the centre contact of an RF connector during the crimping oper

26、ation. The dies shall be closed and a force shall be applied to the handles a

27、t a point 30 mm to 35 mm from their ends. The force required to operate the release mechanism shall be not less than 20 N. 4.7 Operating force (crimping cycle) The operating force for the crimping cycle shall be testcd as specified in 6.7 of part 1. The appropriate test piece selected from table 2 s

28、hall be used and shall be crimped at the end of the test piece sleeve. The compression force required to perform a crimping cycle, applied to the handles between points P1 and P2 (see 4.3 and figure 1) shall not be greater than 425 N. If the test piece is to be gauged subsequently, the crimping cycl

29、e shall be taken only to the point where the full closure mechanism allows re lea se 4.8 Overload force The crimping tool shall be designed such that it will pass the overload force test (6.8 of Part 1) when a force of 700 N is applied to the handles between points P1 and P2 (see 4.3 and figure 1).

30、4.9 Crimping die cavities The crimping dies shall have die cavities in accordance with table 1 and figuq 2. 4.10 Die alignment With the dies closed but empty, misalignment of the dies SU not exceed 0,25 mm in any axis, and the A/F dimensions of table 1 shall be maintained. 4.11 Dynamictest Tool perf

31、ormance shall be assessed using the procedure of 6.4. This provides a dynamic test comparable to normal operation. 32、ual style references which shall consist of three elements, as follows: a) the number of this European Standard followed by a hyphen, i.e. EN 50109-; b) the number of this Part followed by a solidus, i.e. 2-U; c) the die size code which consists of two letters, the fist being the die size for the ce

33、ntre contact and the second being the die size for the outer ferrule (crimp sleeve), e.g. WD. EXAMPLE: Tool style reference EN 50109-2-1/WD denotes crimping dies having two hexagon cavities, 1,69 mm and 5,41 mm across flats respectively (see table 1). 5.2 Marking 5.2.1 The tools shall be marked With

34、 the tool style reference (see 5. i) in accordance with the requirements of 5.1 of Part 1. 5.2.2 In addition the crimping dies or the tool frame adjacent to the dies shall be marked with the size code letters, i.e. the third element of the tool style reference in accordance with 5.lc and table 1. 6

35、Test and acceptance requirements 6.1 Generp1 The requirements of clauses 6 and 7 of Part 1 apply using the values specified in clause 4 of this Part 2-1. 6.2 Mechaiuca leadurance The mechanical endurance shall be tested as specified in 6.9 of Par - surface texture shall be measured in accordance wit

36、h IS0 468 and IS0 4287/1; - gauges sha be marked as shown. 7 User infomation and maintenance testing 7.1 User information in accordance with 5.3 of Part 1 shall be provided. 7.2 It is recommended that the operating force (crimping cycle) test, followed by the dynamic test procedure, (see 4.7 and 6.4

37、) should be carried out at intervals determincd by the conditions of semice and consequences of failure.
