It supersedes BS EN 14509:2006 which is withdrawn.EN 14509:2013 is a candidate “har

2、monized” European Standard and fullytakes into account the requirements of the European Commission mandates M/121, Internal and external wall and ceiling finishes, andM/122, Roof coverings, roof lights, roof windows and ancillary products,given under the EU Construction Products Directive (89/106/EE

3、C), and isintended to lead to CE marking. The date of applicability of EN 14509:2013as a “harmonized” European Standard, i.e. the date after which thisStandard may be used for CE marking purposes, is subject to an announcement in the Official Journal of the European Communities.EN 14509:2013 is the

4、subject of transitional arrangements agreed underthe European Commission mandate. The Member States have agreed anominal transition period of twelve months for the co-existence of EN14509:2013 and its corresponding national standard(s). At the end of thisco-existence period, the national standard(s)

28、) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 128 “Roof covering products for discontinuous laying and products for wall cladding”, the secretariat of which is held by NBN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by e

29、ndorsement, at the latest by April 2014, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by October 2014.
