1、A-A-54433 25 June leel COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRI PT ION CAP, Ol?EHATIhJQ, GUHICAL The Ueneral Services Adm1nist.ration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for MIL-C-37015 which ig cancelled. This Commercial Item Description covers two styles of a disposable, hood

2、-type, universal cap with elastic neck closure, and tie tape neck closure suitable for one-time use by surgical team members. Salient Characteristics: The caps shall be disposable, universal size. surgical hoods with a face port and elasticized neck closure or tie tape neck closure. The caps shall b

3、e pastel shades of blue, green or grey and furnished in the following styles: Style A - Elastic Neck Closure Style B - Tie Tape Neck Closure Style A shall include overall nominal dimensions, when flattened, of 14 inches in height and a 5-1/2 inch face port. approximately 5 inches above the base line

4、. The elasticized, fully etretched neck opening shall tie at leagt 13-1/2 inches flat dimension. The machine direction of the fabric shall run in the vertical direction of the hood. There shall be no openings in the seanis. Style B shall have overall nominal dimensions. when flattened, of 11 inches

5、in height, 10 inchee in width at. the base, with a face port of 6-3/4 inches wide located approximately 1-3/4 inche6 above the base line. The deeign Ehall consist of two Eide panels, or equivalent, and a cpown, with the lower sectione of the side panels extended forward to form tie tapes approximate

6、ly 1-3/4 inches wide and 16 inches long, with the machine direction of the nonwoven fabric parallel to the tie extension direction. There Ehall be no openings in the seams. The nonwoven fabric shall be

8、 non-pilling, lint-free, noiseless, free of objectionable odors when wet. or dry, non-toxic arid non-irritating. The caps shall comply with NFPA BQ requirements for surface resist.ivity (static) and with NFPA 102, Class III for flame resistance. Workmanshk The disposable operating caps shall be free

9、 from defects which det.ract from their appearance or impair their serviceability. Unit. Package (Pa). ne package containing five hundred caps for style A or two hundred cape for style B. as specified, constitutes one unit. Quaiitv Assurance Provisions. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwis

10、e Epecified in the contract or purchase order. the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspect.ion requirements as specified herein. The aovernment reserve8 the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to aasure eupplies and services conform to prescvibed requirements. 12、ecords of examinationa. and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three yearg after delivery of th

13、e supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigat.ion without the use of special laboratory appliance8 OP procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical propertiee

Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 1.0 (percent defective)

15、 and an inspection level of II. The unit of product for examination purposes shall be one package of operating caps. Sampling for tests. Sampling for tests, including dimensional test, shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 2.5 (percent defective) and an inspection level o

16、f S-l. The unit of product for test purposes shall be one package of operating caps. Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics. Tests shall include,

17、but =hall not be limited to, the following: 1. NFPA 09, for surface resistivity 2. NFFA 702, class III. for flame resistance M-ric! products. Products manufactured to metric dimensiona will Le considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the

18、 tolerances gpeclfled using conversion tab.les contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376. and all other requirements of I thie document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimenslona and thoge dimeneione exceed the tolerances specified in the inchipound unite, a request sh

19、ould be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting, officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristice of this deccription and

20、conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards. and quality assurance practices.
