1、A-A-54 4 2 5 14 June 1991 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION CLAMPS, ARTERY, DEBAKEY, SHALLOW “U“ JAWS The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37548 which is cancelled. This Commercial Item Description

2、covers artery clamps of the DeBakey design suitable for accomplishing hemostatic in delicate tissue. Salient characteristics: General. Shall be artery occlusion clamps of the DeBakey design, capable of providing a firm, non-slip, triangular grasp, for accomplishing hemostasis without causing trauma

3、to the tissue. The clamps specified herein shall be of the Sizes - Overall Lenqth ( Inches) 1 - 11 2 - 10-3/4 3 - 10-1/2 4 - 10 5 - 8-1/4 following sizes and styles: Style-Length of Jaws (Centimeters) A - 7.5 B - 6.0 c - 5.5 D - 4.8 E - 3.7 Material. The clamp saLa be fabricated from class 4, type 4

The clamps shall have a Rockwell Hardness C Scale (HRC) of C36 to C41 for type 416 material, C38 to C44 for 410 material, and C40 to C47 for type 420 material when tested in accordance with ASTM E18 or E92 whichever is applicable. Conversion of hardness

6、values shall be in accordance with ASTM E140. Style, desiqn and dimensions. The clamps shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing No. 20901 for style, design and dimensions. Performance. The clamps shall be capable of meeting applicable requirements of ASTM F1026. Fi

7、nish. The clamps shall have mirror, satin, or matte finish. Passivation. The clamps shall be properly passivated. Corrosion resistance. The clamps shall show no evidence of corrosion when tested for corrosion resistance in accordance with ASTM F1089. Identification markinq and labelincr. The clamps

8、shall be legibly marked with the contractorls name or registered trademark and the word llstainlessll. Foreign manufactured clamps shall bear the name of the country of origin. WorkmanshiD. The clamps shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. Unit. Ea

9、ch (EA). One clamp, as specified, constitutes one unit. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except otherwise sp

10、ecified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specifi

Records of exam

12、inations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such record

13、s relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory applicants or procedures) and testing (determination by technical. means and chemical properties) of the item. Samplins for examination. Sa

14、mpling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105 and as specified herein. Unit of product for examination purposes shall be one clamp. Sampling shall be Inspection level II with an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 1.0. Examination. Examination shall be conducted to determine

Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall with

19、in the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a requ

20、est should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Requlatorv requirements. Federal Food, Druq, and Cosmetic Act. If the product covered by this document has been determined by the U.S

21、. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction , the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder. In addition, the off

22、eror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of all other applicable Federal State, and local statutes, ordinances, and regulations. Recovered material. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered material in accorda

23、nce with Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 23.4 to the maximum extent practical. Preservation, packasins, D ackins, labelins, and markins. Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof
