This commerciai item description covers a mot311e cold pacK unit used for maintai

2、ning cold paws at a proper temperature for immediate use in pnysicai therapy. Salient characteristics. The unit shall be a mobie refrigerator with 12 cold packs suitable for use in physical therapy. The unit shall be constructed of type 304 stainless steel. All plumbing components shaii be construct

3、ed of copper or brass. The unit shall be insulated with polyurethane foam or equivalent to help ma-intain low temperatures. Cold packs shall be constructed of a pliable plastic envelope containing a gel. fiier. Design and construction. The unit shall employ a freon refrigezation system with a 1/5 Hp

4、 compressor, controlled by a thermostat. A thermometer, calibrated Detween 10 and 60 F, shail De provided to observe the inner tank temperacure. The inner tank shall De equipped with a drain valve to facilitate cleaning. Tne unit shall be mounteci on four 3 inch casters. The overall dimensions shali

5、 be equal to or less than 30 inches long by 20 inches wide and 35 inches high. The unit shall weigh less than 250 pounds. Innei: tank. The unit snail have an inner tank of sufficaent size for storage of 12 cold packs as specified herein. The tank shall be approximately 12 by 20 by 14 inches. Coid pa

6、cks. The unit shall be supplied with 12 reusable cold packs. Six cold packs shall have nominal sizes of 11 by 13 inches. The remaining six cold packs shall have nominal sizes of 7 by 11 inches. The refrigerator unit shall maintain a 20F (+ 10F) operating temperature in the inner tank. The time required t

8、o reach the operating temperature from an ambient temperature shall be less than five hours. Cold packs shall remain flexible when chilled to 10QF. The unit shall comply with the applicable requirements of UL 427, Standards for Safety, Refrigeration Units. Power. The refrigerator shall operate on 12

9、0 volts, 50/60 Hz or 230 volts, 50/60 Hz. Workmanship. The cold pack therapy refrigerator shall. be free from defects which detract from its appearance or - impair its serviceability. Unit. Each (EA). One refrigerator, as specified, constitutes one unit. Quality Assurance Provisions. Responsibility

10、for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all-inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitab

11、le for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Goverfiment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to pre

12、scribed requirements . Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made avaiable to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of t

13、hree years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or audito1.y investigation without the use of specia laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of ph

Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specified requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of

Sampling for inspection shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 1.0 (percent defective) and an inspection level of II. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Fede

19、ral Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The co

20、ntracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this desc;iption and conforms to the producers own drawings, specification, standard, and quality assurance pra

21、ctices. 22、 Regulatory requirements. by this document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic A

23、ct, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder. In addition, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsibe for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of all other applicable Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances, and regulations. Federal Food, Dru

24、g and Cosmetic Act. If the product covered Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered material in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as amended, and as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 23.4 to the maximum extent practical. Preservation, packaging,

25、 packing, labeling, and marking. Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under normal shipping conditions, handling, etc., involving shipment from the supply source to the reeeiving a

26、ctivity, plus reshipment from receiving activity, and shall conform to applicable carriers rules and regulations.
