This Commercial Item Description covers sterile

2、, nonadherent pads . Salient Characteristics: _- The nonadherent pads shall be of the following sizes and absorbencies. The filler shall be a nonwoven fabric or shall be needle loomed. The absorbency rate of t

7、he filler shall not exceed 15 seconds when tested in accordance with Purified Cotton, USP, and the filler shall not disintegrate or fray alter standing in water for 24 hours. The filler shall have a minimum weight of 75 grams per square yard when tested in accordance with method 5041 of Federal Test

8、 Method Standard No. 191 and the filler shall have a minimum thickness of 30 mils when measured in accordance with method 5030 of Federal Test Method Standard No. 191. The cover shall be a foraminous plastic film or a foraminous nonwoven fabric. The cover shall have openings comprising a minimum ope

9、n area of 15 percent of the cover area. The openings shall be closely spaced and uniformily distributed over the entire cover area. Wound exudates shall readily pass through the cover and be absorbed by the filler. The pad cover shall be smooth, inert, nontoxic, insoluble in the wound and shall not

10、adhere to the wound. Workmanship. The Nonadherent Pads shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability. - Unit. Package (PG) Each pad shall be individually packaged in a sealed peel-open type envelop capable of maintaining sterility of the pad unless pac

11、kage is damaged or opened. For Size 1 and Size 2, one package containing 100 individually sealed pads of one size only, as specified, constitutes one unit . Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection

13、requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to

14、 perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made

15、available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate, Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (suc

16、h as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Testing and examination shall be conducted to determine compliance with all specification requirements

17、. Test Methods shall be suitable, accurate and reproducible , Sampling for examination. Sampling for examination shall be conlth MIL-STD-LO5 and as specified herein. The unit of product for examination shall be one nonadherent pad. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for examination shall be conduc

18、ted at inspection level II, AQL 2.5 maximum percent defective. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance-practices.

Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Sta

21、ndard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contr

22、acting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Regulatory requirements. Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. If the product covered bv this document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Aiministration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contractor shall comply, a

23、nd be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder. In addition, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its cubcontractors/suppliers,

24、 with the requirements of all other applicable Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances, and regulations. Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered material in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as amended, and as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation S

25、ubpart 23.4 to the maximum extent practical. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under nocmal shipping conditions, handlin

26、g, etc., involving shipment from the supply source to receiving activity, plus reshipment from receiving activity, and shall conform to applicable carriers rules and regulations. Intermediate and exterior package quantities and labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract and/or order.
