This drawing describes the requirements of a fiber optic kit, for assembly, disassembly and repair of connectors on CECOM drawing A3302584. 1.2 Part or Ide

4、ntifying Number (PIN). The complete PIN shall be as follows: 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified in sections 3 and 4 of this specification. This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or recommended for add

5、itional information or as examples. While every effort has been made to ensure the completeness of this list, document users are cautioned that they must meet all specified requirements of documents in sections 3 and 4 of this specification, whether or not they are listed. 2.2 Government documents.

6、2.2.1 Other Government documents, drawings, and publications. The following other Government documents, drawings, and publications form a part of this document to the extent specified herein. The individual requirements shall be in accordance with table I. 3.2 Recycled, recovered, or environmen

8、tally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.3 Case. Weight

9、including all components: 60 pounds max. Size: 30 inches long max. 30 inches wide max. 15 inches high max. 3.3.1 The case shall include the following characteristics: 3.3.1.1 Cut or molded foam compartments/cushions that protect contents from shock and vibration. 3.3.1.2 A minimum of two (2) hand ho

10、lds that double as tie downs. Each hand hold shall be capable of supporting the entire kit load for two (2) minutes. 3.3.1.3 A hinge having corrosion resistant properties, connecting the two (2) parts of the case (base and cover). 3.3.1.4 A water proof seal such that when closed and latched, the cas

12、and pressure relief feature. 3.3.1.6 Corrosion resistant over the center clasps that close and seal the case. 3.3.2 As an option the case may include the following, provided all other requirements are met: 3.3.2.1 Wheels and telescoping handle. 3.4 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of complia

13、nce shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be a suggested source of supply. 3.5 Marking. The case shall be marked with the drawing number, the drawing revision letter, and the manufacturers name or Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code and the words “TWO MAN LIFT”. 3.6 Workmanship

14、. The kit shall be uniform in quality and free from any defects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. All components of this kit shall be of a robust configuration so as to withstand field use. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Design verification. One complete kit shall be subjected to the follow

15、ing sequence of inspections/tests to verify compliance to the design requirements of section 3.3. Records of the design verification shall be maintained by the manufacturer. a. Visual inspection of, case to verify the presence of all components (see table I), that cut or molded foam cushions are in

16、place to protect contents, that there are a minimum of two hand holds, that a vacuum/pressure relief feature is present, and that the top and bottom are connected by a corrosion resistant hinge. b. Open, close and latch the case 5 times and when closed the last time, verify the waterproof seal by ho

17、sing down the case with water for a minimum of 2 minutes (30 seconds on each side). After opening the case and examining the contents, there shall be no evidence of moisture inside the case. c. Close and latch the case and support it by each hand hold for 2 minutes minimum. d. Close and latch the ca

18、se and perform a drop test on each of the four bottom corners (4 drops) from a height of 24 inches minimum from the corner of the case to the dropping surface. After opening the case and examining the contents, there shall be no evidence of damage to any components inside the case 4.2 Conformance in

19、spection. Conformance inspection shall be performed on 100 percent of product produced to this drawing and shall consist of a visual inspection to verify the quantity (see table I) of all components contained within the kit along with proper marking (see 3.4). 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisi

20、tion purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When packaging of material is to be performed by DoD or in-house contractor personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain packaging requirements. Packaging

21、 requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activities within the Military Service or Defense Agency, or within the military services system commands. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military Departments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files,

22、 CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. This kit is intended to be used for assembly, disassembly and repair of fiber optic con
