SCOPE. This commercial item descri

3、ption (CID) covers an uninsulated electrical binding post with insulated cap used as a wiring termination on terminal boards and test set panels. This binding post uses a screw-type wire gripping action. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The electrical binding post shall be classified and identified by the types i

4、n accordance with the characteristics specified in table I. The selected types of products to be supplied shall be specified in the acquisition order (see 7.3(b). TABLE I. The electrical binding post shall be similar to the one shown in figure 1. The product shall consist of the binding post, captive cap, and all mounting hardware. Prov

Unless specified otherwise in the acquisition order (see 7.3(c), the current-carrying portions of the binding post shall be brass confo

8、rming to the requirements of ASTM B 16/B 16M, “Standard Specification for Free-Cutting Brass Rod, Bar and Shapes for Use in Screw Machines“. 3.2.2 Finish. Unless otherwise specified in the acquisition order (see 7.3(d), metal portions of the binding post shall be nickel plated in accordance with SAE

9、 AMS-QQ-N-290, “Nickel Plating (Electrodeposited)“. 3.2.3 Cap. The cap shall be insulated and non-removable. The material used for the insulated caps of the binding post shall be specified in the acquisition order (see 7.3(e). 3.3 Non-turn feature. Unless otherwise specified in the acquisition order

10、 (see 7.3(f), the non-turn feature shall be a knurled base as shown in figure 1. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regul

12、62A 3 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial mar

13、ketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Market acceptability. The product offered must have been previously sold either to the government or on the commercial market. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. Preservation, packing, and marking

14、 shall be as specified in the acquisition order (see 7.3(g). 7. NOTES 7.1 Part or identification number (PIN).
