National foreword This document (EN ISO 18541-4:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 301 “Road vehicles” (Secretariat: AFNOR, France) in collaboration with Technical Committee ISO/TC 22 “Road vehic

The responsible German body involved in its preparation was DIN-Normenausschuss Automobiltechnik (DIN Standards Committee Road Vehicle Engineering), Working Committee NA 052-00-31 AA Datenkommunikation. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and

7、 the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s). This mandate relates to the EC type approval system for motor vehicles lying within the scopes of Directives 70/156/EEC, 2002/24/EC and 2003/37/EC, in particular the provisions regarding access to vehicle r

8、epair and maintenance information by independent operators. This standard only covers access to automotive repair and maintenance information for vehicles as in Directive 70/156/EEC (which has been replaced by Directive 2007/46/EC). The purpose of the EC Mandate M/421 is to develop a standard or set

9、 of standards which specify the requirements to provide standardized access to automotive repair and maintenance information (RMI) for independent operators. This testing standard describes conformance tests for vehicle manufacturer repair and maintenance information systems (VM RMI), to provide for

10、 quality testing of systems for the benefit of the customer. The term “cluster” is also used in the German version since it is clearly defined for the automotive repair and maintenance information industry. Amendments Compared with DIN EN 18541-4:2016-04, the following corrections have been made to

11、the German version: a) the terminology is more strictly used throughout the whole document; b) in the German version, general editorial and content corrections have been made to the German translation; c) missing German translations have been added (see 13.11.5, 23.1.5).
