National foreword This standard includes safety requirements within the meaning of the Gerte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz (GPSG) (German Equipment and Product Safety
5、 Act). This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 333 “Cycles” (Secretariat: UNI, Italy). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Sport- und Freizeitgert (Sports Equipment Standards Committee), Working Committee NA 112-06-01 AA Fahrrder fr a
6、llgemeine und sportliche Benutzung. Where this standard has been identified by the Ausschuss fr Produktsicherheit (German Committee for Product Safety) and reference to it has been published in the Gemeinsames Ministerialblatt (German Joint Ministerial Gazette) by the Bundesanstalt fr Arbeitsschutz
7、und Arbeitsmedizin (BAuA) (German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health), it is to be presumed that BMX bicycles which comply with this standard fulfil the relevant health and safety requirements. Where they comply with the provisions laid down in Section 5 of the Product Safety Act,
8、such products may then be marked with the GS mark (German “safety tested” mark) as awarded to the manufacturer by an authorized “GS organization”. The DIN Standard corresponding to the International Standard referred to in this document is as follows: ISO 1101 DIN EN ISO 1101 Amendments This standar
9、d differs from DIN 79105:1985-06 as follows: a) the standard has been adopted as a European Standard; b) the scope has been extended to include all bicycles ridden on public roads having a minimum saddle height of 435 mm or more; c) the standard has been editorially revised; d) requirements for coas
10、ter brakes have been deleted; e) requirements and tests have been revised for frame, fork, steering, tyres and rims, brakes, saddle and seat-pillars, pedals and bottom-bracket, sharp edges, protrusions, wheels, chain-wheel disc, front wheel retention, rear axle retention, brake cables and lighting s
11、ystems, instructions for use, marking and warning; f) further requirements have been included for folding bicycles and drive-chain.
