National foreword This document (EN 694:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 192 “Fire and rescue service equipment” (Secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom), Working Group WG 1 “Hoses for f
5、ire-fighting”. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the DIN-Normenausschuss Feuerwehrwesen (DIN Standards Committee Fire-fighting and Fire Protection), Working Committee NA 031-04-04 AA Schluche und Armaturen SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 1 und WG 8. Together with DIN EN 1947 and DIN E
6、N 14540, this standard is one of a series of fire-fighting hose standards that have been simultaneously revised by CEN/TC 192/WG 1 “Hoses for fire-fighting”. The former Annexes A to F including the test methods have been deleted and the test methods are now centrally specified in DIN EN 15889, Fire-
7、fighting hoses Test methods. In the present standard, reference is now made to the relevant annexes in DIN EN 15889. Because this document takes into consideration all hoses currently in use in Europe, semi-rigid hoses for fixed systems as in this document have been classified into two types and six
8、 classes, so that three possible inside diameters are given. During the next revision of this document, the extent to which such a complex classification is necessary will be reviewed on the basis of current market considerations. This European Standard does not specify a designation. The following
9、designation of fire-fighting hoses as in this standard is recommended: Designation of a fire-fighting hose as in this standard, of type A, class 1, with an inside diameter of 25 mm, a maximum working pressure of 1,2 MPa and a total length of 20 m: Fire-fighting hose DIN EN 694 A 1 25 1,2 20 The Nati
10、onal Annex NA gives recommendations as to which hoses as in this standard should be used to replace hoses as in the former DIN 14818-1 and DIN 14818-2 (both withdrawn). Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 694:2007-07 as follows: a) The former Annexes A to F including the test methods have b
11、een deleted; reference is now made to the relevant annexes in DIN EN 15889; b) the standard has been editorially revised.
