4、 Technical Committee CEN/TC 144 “Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry“ (Secretariat: AFNOR, France), Working Group WG 3 “Mobile machines and trailers”. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering Standards Commit

5、tee), Section Landtechnik. Amendment of the European Machinery Directive has made it necessary to review the previously valid standard, EN 14017:2005, in terms of the essential requirements of the new European Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC. This standard contains specifications meeting the essenti

6、al requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery Directive”, Directive 98/37/EC, (valid until 28 December 2009) and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, which takes effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to solid fertilizer distributors that are either first placed on th

7、e market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this st

8、andard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). The European Standards referred to in clause 2 of this document have been published as the corresponding DIN EN or DIN EN ISO Standards with the same number. This standard makes reference to

9、documents which were valid as of the publication of the European standard. Since then, the standards EN 294:1992 and EN 1553:1999 have been withdrawn. EN 294:1992 has been superseded by EN ISO 13857:2008 and EN 1553:1999 has been superseded by EN ISO 4254-1:2005. Amendments This standard differs fro

29、duction This European Standard is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. These hazards are specific to solid fertilizer distribut

30、ors. Significant hazards that are common to all agricultural machines (self-propelled, mounted, semi-mounted and trailed) are dealt with in EN 1553:1999. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard

31、 take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. DIN EN 14017:2009-12 EN 14017:2005+A2:2009 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard, applied together with EN 1553:1999, specifies the safety r

32、equirements and their verification for the design and construction of mounted, semi-mounted, trailed or self-propelled fertilizer distributors for solid fertilizer application, i.e. full width solid fertilizer distributors, solid fertilizer broadcasters, distributors with oscillating tube and line-d

33、istributors as well as solid fertilizer distributors driven by an auxiliary engine to be used by one operator only, used in agriculture, horticulture and in forestry. In addition, this European Standard specifies the type of information on safe working practices (including residual risks) to be prov

34、ided by the manufacturer. When requirements of this European Standard are different from those which are stated in EN 1553:1999 the requirements of this European Standard take precedence over the requirements of EN 1553:1999 for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions

35、of this European Standard. It does not apply to: combined seed and fertilizer drills; machines for distributing granulated pesticides; pedestrian controlled distributors; knapsack distributors. This European Standard deals with all the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to

36、 solid fertilizer distributors, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Clause 4), excepting the hazards arising from: inadequate lighting of moving/working area; inadequate visibility from drivers/operators position; inadequate seating; travelling f

37、unctions (drive, braking etc.); rolling over; equipment for loading fertilizer into the machine; an auxiliary engine. It is not applicable to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) nor to environmental hazards (except noise). These aspects are covered by EN 13739-1:2003, EN 13739-2:2003, EN 13740-1:200

38、3 and EN 13740-2:2003. This European Standard is not applicable to solid fertilizer distributors which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN.
