4、ed in parallel until December 2008. National foreword This standard includes safety requirements. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 192 “Fire service equipment” (Secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom), Working Group WG 2 “Fire-fighting pumps” (Secretariat: DIN, Germany). This

5、document includes Amendment A1:2008. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Feuerwehrwesen (Firefighting and Fire Protection Standards Committee), Technical Committee NA 031-04-05 AA Feuerlsch-pumpen. Amendment A1:2008 to EN 1028-1:2002 was necessary for the

6、following reasons: Due to the revision of the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC and its replacement through 2006/42/EC, effective from 29 December 2009, modifications to the European Standards cited under that Directive in the Official Journal of the European Communities have been necessary. If these mod

7、ifications had not been made, then an Annex Z would have been added to the relevant standard stating that the standard does NOT comply with the relevant essential requirements of Directive 2006/42/EC. The standard would have then been deleted from the Official Journal and would have no longer been d

8、eemed a harmonized standard. To maintain its status as a harmonized standard, EN 1028-1:2002 has been carefully reviewed and compared with the revised Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; it has been determined that the standard complies with the requirements of 2006/42/EC. Therefore, CEN/TC 192 decided

9、in June 2007 to use the “simple amendment” (type 1) procedure which does not involve any technical modifications, but only a few minor editorial changes (e.g. updating the Foreword) and the addition of a new Annex ZB. Amendment A1:2008, in conjunction with EN 1028-1:2002 thus concretizes the basic r

10、equirements set out in Annex I of the EU Machinery Directive 98/37/EC (valid until 28 December 2009) and the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC which becomes applicable on 29 December 2009 relating to machines to be placed on the EEA market, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving confor

11、mity with such requirements. Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Official Journal of the European Union, a manufacturer applying this new consolidated version of the standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (the so-called “presumption

12、of conformity”). A revision of Part 2 of EN 1028 (EN 1028-2:2002) was also necessary for the same reasons. This European Standard is to be applied in conjunction with Part 2 of EN 1028 Verification of general and safety requirements. The 2002 edition of this European Standard, together with EN 1028-

13、2, replaced the German standards specifying requirements for and the testing of pumps for fire-brigades, DIN 14420-1:1986-02 and DIN 14420-2:1989-04. Because these two national standards had to be withdrawn upon the publication of the European Standards, a “residual standard” was published as DIN 14

14、420 containing national provisions not covered by the European Standard but which are necessary for the application of DIN EN 1028 in Germany. The DIN collective mark may be applied to pumps complying with this standard if they have been registered by DIN CERTCO. NOTE 1 Use of the collective mark re

The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and event

43、s are covered are indicated in the scope of this standard. Where provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been desig

44、ned and built in accordance with the provisions of this type C standard. This Standard has been prepared as a harmonized standard to provide one means of conformity with essential requirements of the Machinery Directive and associated EFTA Regulations. While producing this standard it was assumed th

45、at: a) only trained persons operate the machine; b) components without specific requirements are: 1) designed in accordance with the usual engineering practice and calculation codes, including all failure modes; 2) of sound mechanical construction; 3) of materials with adequate strength and of suita

46、ble quality; 4) of materials free of defects; NOTE General hazards due to hydraulic and pneumatic equipment are dealt with in standards for common use such as EN 982, EN 983. c) harmful materials (e.g. asbestos) are not used as part of the machine; d) components are kept in good repair and working o

47、rder, so that the required characteristics remain; e) by design of the load bearing elements, a safe operation of the machine is assured for loading, from 0 % to 100 % of the rated possibilities and during the tests; f) to ensure the correct functioning of the equipment, the ambient temperature is m

49、e machine. 5 DIN EN 1028-1:2008-09 EN 1028-1:2002+A1:2008 (E) 1 Scope This standard applies for centrifugal pumps with priming devices for fire-fighting use supplied separately without driver and couplings. Fire-fighting centrifugal pumps with primer are defined as terminated by their inlet and outlet connec-tions as well as by their shaft ends. This standard applies for fire-fighting centrifugal pumps with priming devices for use under ambient temperatures between -15 C and 40 C. NOTE For special conditions, -30
