12、ing: 3.1.1 Maximum permissible error Extreme value of an error permitted for micrometers as in this standard (cf. 5.21 in l); in this standard, termed limit of error and designated as G (cf. figure 5). For fixed micrometers, the limit of error G, (see below) applies instead of G. 3.1.2 Extreme value
13、 of an error permitted for micrometers as in this standard, including errors of the spindle, its guide, and of the indicating device. In the case of depth micrometers, the effects of the base are disregarded (cf. figure 5). Designated as G,. Maximum permissible error of measuring head 3.2 Nomenclatu
14、re and dimensions See figures 1 and 2 for nomenclature used in this standard. The designs shown are for illustrative purposes only, but the dimensions shall be as specified. Any deviating dimensions shall be subject to agreement. 4 Designation Designation of a depth micrometer (T) in accordance with
15、 this standard: Micrometer DIN 863 - T 5 Requirements 5.1 Design features 5.1.1 The micrometer shall be held by a cylindrical clamping shank or a threaded cylindrical shank fitted with a locking nut. The shank may be flanged for end-face mounting. 5.1.2 Base for depth micrometers The underside of th
16、e base shall be flat, serving as one of the measuring faces and as support on the measured object. The length, 2, of the base should be either 50 mm or 1 O0 mm. 5.1.3 Spindle The spindle screw thread should have a pitch of 0,5 mm or 1 mm. There shall be no perceptible shake between the spindle and t
17、he nut. The spindle screw thread should be fully engaged in the nut thread over the entire measuring range. 18、g shank for fixed micrometers Page 3 DIN 863-2 : 1999-04 The measuring face of fixed micrometers may have any shape, although faces are normally flat or spherical. In depth micrometers, a hole may be drilled through the spindle to receive measuring needles or extension rods. In this case, the rear e
19、nd of the spindle shall have a stop face for needle or rod, as shown in figure 3. The interchangeable needles or rods shall come in series of lengths with graduations of 25 mm and shall have flat end faces. 5.1.4 Spindle locking device If depth micrometers are provided with aspindle locking device,
