2、ropane as fuel gas, the flame of which can be used to ignite materials such as plastics, textiles, etc. when testing the burning behaviour of said materials. With the aid of this burner, a flame with estimable dimensions and with a constant temperature profile is capable of being generated. The flam

3、e height can be adjusted from 10 mm to 60 mm. 2 Description of the burner The burner shall feature the dimensions specified in Fig. 1 a) and shall comprise the following components: Fine adjustment valve Fuel gas jet (serial number 1) Burner tube (serial number 2) Outlet stabilizer (serial number 3)

4、 Particular attention shall be paid to the dimensional tolerances and surface finishes specified in Fig. 1 b) and Fig. IC). 2.1 Fine adjustment valve A fine adjustment valve 1 ) by means of which the fuel gas feed can be adjusted according to the conditions laid down in Section 4 shall be fitted. Th

5、e burner may be mounted directly on the fine adjustment valve, accord- ing to Fig. 2. 2.2 Fuel gas jet The fuel gas jet is the component illustrated in Fig. 1 b). The internal diameter of the fuel gas jet bore shall amount to O. 17 mm. The gas feed in the fuel gas jet shall have an internal dia- met

6、er of 2 mm and shall be machined with a permissible deviation of k O. 1 mm. The grooved recess illustrated in Fig. 1 a) is designed to create a given degree of turbulence of the aspirated air. The dimensions of this grooved recess must therefore be adhered to within a permissible deviation of IO.1 m

7、m. 2.3 Burner tube The burner tube comprises 4 functional zones: Mixing chamber Tapered acceleration zone Straight guide zone Outlet aperture 2.3.1 Mixing chamber The burner tube features 4 circular air inlet holes of 4 mm diameter in the mixing chamber zone, as illu- strated in Fig. 1 cl. The top e

8、dge of the fuel gas jet must be situated 0.5 mm beneath the apex of the air inlet holes. The air inlet holes control the air supply by Venturi effect. 2.3.2 Acceleration zone, guide zone and outlet aperture The acceleration zone is tapered in accordance with the dimensions specified in Fig. 1 cl. It

9、 leads into the guide zone of constant diameter. The gas outlet aperture is bored out to 3.0 mm. 2.4 Outlet stabilizer The outlet stabilizer is manufactured in accordance with Fig. 1 di. Its purpose is to stabilize the flame. 3 Fuel gas 3.1 Propane in accordance with DIN 51 622 shall be used as fuel

10、 gas. 3.2 The fuel gas pressure upstream of the burner fine adjustment valve shall amount to 500 mbar 2). 3.3 The fuel gas shall be at the same temperature as the test room. 4 Testflame 4.1 Adjustment of test flame The length of the test flame shall be adjusted by means of the fine adjustment valve

11、with the burner in vertical posit ion. 4.2 Length of test flame The length of the test flame shall be understood to be the distance between the front end face of the stabilizer and the tip of the flame shining with a yellowish glow. 1) Addresses of sources of supply can be obtained from: DI N-Bezugs

It appeared desirable to edit this Standard because the burner specified herein is used in several process St

16、andards and is described in detail and in the same way in said Standards. When new editions of these Standards are published in due course, and when further process Standards are compiled, it will therefore be possible to dispense with the description of the burner in these Standards. The burner des
