SCOPE 1.1 Except as provided in Clause 1.2, this Standard applies to household electric
20、 toys operating at nominal potentials of 120 volts or less, including extra low potential, and intended for use in ordinary (i.e. non-hazardous) locations as defined in the Canadian Electrical Code Part I. 1.2 This standard does not apply to battery operated toys: (a) Having a battery of a non-recha
21、rgeable (primary) type; and (b) Having a battery of a rechargeable (secondary) type which must be removed from the toy for recharging. 1.3 This Standard does not apply to wood burning tools or similar burning devices. 2. DEFINiTIONS 2.1 The following definitions apply in this Standard: Combination t
22、emperature-regulating and limiting thermostat means a thermostat which functions to regulate the temperature under normal con- ditions of use, and also serves to prevent a hazard that might result from conditions of abnormal operation; Enclosure means the enclosure which houses the electrical compon
23、ents and live parts. It may be an integral part of the component, a separate item, part of the ultimate enclosure, or the ultimate enclosure (i.e. the outer cabinet); Heating element means the actual electrical conducting medium, in any heating device, which is intended to be heated by an electric c
24、urrent; Temperature-regulating thermostat means a thermostat which functions only to regulate the temperature under normal conditions of use, the failure of which would not result in a hazard; Temperature-limiting thermostat means a thermostat which functions only under conditions which produce abno
