These replacement pages are to be inserted into your copy of the Standard; the pages replaced should be kept for reference. 9 C22.2 NO. 109-M1981 Commercial Cooking Appliances 1. Scope 1.1 This Standard
18、applies to cord-connected and permanently connected electrically heated commercial cooking appliances for use on nominal system voltages of 600 V and less, designed to be used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1. 1.2 This Standard applies to electric ranges, ovens, b
19、roilers, fry kettles, griddles, sandwich toasters, toasters, food warmers, coffee stoves, urns, hot-plates, popcorn machines, liquid heaters, pressure cookers*, utensil warmers, and similar appliances. *Pressure vessels that may operate at pressures of 15 psi and greater are subject to inspection by
20、 pressure vessel inspection authorities. 1.3 This Standard applies to food cooking and warming appliances for use in non-hazardous locations in com- mercial establishments. 1.4 This Standard does not apply to electrical equip- ment on coal- or gas-heated cooking equipment or to appliances employing
21、high-frequency currents. 2. Definitions 2.1 The following definitions apply in this Standard: Combination temperatufe-regulating and -limiting control means a device that functions to regulate the temperature under normal conditions of use, and also serves to prevent a hazard that might result from
22、conditions of abnormal operation of the appliance; Heater element means a complete or partial assembly of heating element, electrical insulation (eg, refractory, mica), metal sheath, glass or quartz envelope or panel, thermal insulation, and frame or adapter for holding the assembly together and fas
23、tening it in the appliance; and leads or terminal connections or both, which may or may not include bolts and nuts: Temperature-regulating control means a device that functions only to regulate the temperature under normal conditions of use, the failure of which would not result in a hazard; Tempera
24、ture-limiting control means a device that func- tions only under conditions which produce abnormal temperatures, the failure of which might result in a hazard. 3.
