36、sirable, as demonstrated by the experience gained from the application of the procedures, and in order to conform to developments in the elevator industry. Approved revisions will be published periodically. The ASME A17 Committee welcomes proposals for revisions to this Code. Such proposals should b

37、e as specific as possible, citing the section number(s), the proposed wording, and a detailed description of the reasons for the proposal, including any pertinent documentation. Requesting interpretations On request, the ASME A17 Committee will render an interpretation of any requirement of the Code

38、. Interpretations can be rendered only in response to a written request sent to the Secretary of the Standards Committee. The request for interpretation should be clear and unambiguous. It is further recommended that the inquirer submit the request using the following format: Canadian Standards Asso

40、rase the question as a request for an interpretation of a specific requirement suitable for general understanding and use, not as a request for approval of a proprietary design or situation. The question shall be phrased, where possible, to permit a specific “yes” or “no” answer. The inquirer may al

41、so include any plans or drawings that are necessary to explain the question; however, they should not contain proprietary names or information. Requests that are not in this format will be rewritten in this format by the Committee prior to being answered, which may inadvertently change the intent of

42、 the original request. ASME procedures provide for reconsideration of any interpretation if additional information that might affect an interpretation becomes available. Further, persons aggrieved by an interpretation may appeal to the appropriate ASME committee or subcommittee. ASME does not “appro

43、ve,” “certify,” “rate,” or “endorse” any item, construction, proprietary device, or activity. 45、rs and escalators. This is a fully harmonized binational Code.This Code is considered suitable for use for conformity assessment within the stated scope of the Code.This Code was prepared for use in Canada by the CSA Technical Committee on the Elevator Safety Code under the jurisdiction of the CSA S

46、trategic Steering Committee on Public Safety. It has been formally approved by the CSA Technical Committee. March 2007Notes: (1) Use of the singular does not exclude the plural (and vice versa) when the sense allows.(2) Although the intended primary application of this Code is stated in its Scope, i
