36、up 6PrefaceThis is the first edition of CSA A123.23, Product specification for polymer-modified bitumen sheet,prefabricated and reinforced.This Standard is intended to provide minimum requirements for prefabricated and reinforced polymer-modified bitumen sheets used in roofing. It has been developed

37、 with the objective of replacingCGSB 37-GP-56, which was last amended in 1985.This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Bituminous Roofing Materials, under thejurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Construction and Civil Infrastructure, and has beenformally approved by th

38、e Technical Committee.Notes:1) Use of the singular does not exclude the plural (and vice versa) when the sense allows.2) Although the intended primary application of this Standard is stated in its Scope, it is important to note that itremains the responsibility of the users of the Standard to judge

39、its suitability for their particular purpose.3) This Standard was developed by consensus, which is defined by CSA Policy governing standardization Codeof good practice for standardization as “substantial agreement. Consensus implies much more than a simplemajority, but not necessarily unanimity”. It

45、umen sheet, prefabricated andreinforced1 Scope1.1 General1.1.1This Standard covers polymer-modified (styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer and atacticpolypropylene) bitumen sheets intended for use as the plane of watertightness in roofing (includingroof flashings).1.1.2This Standard covers polym

46、er-modified bitumen sheets that are manufactured in a factory as a single,finished sheet and that are installed in a single layer or in multiple layers to form a system.1.1.3Although polymer-modified bitumen sheets also have other uses in the building envelope, this Standarddoes not consider these a

47、dditional uses.1.1.4This Standard does not address system performance and design criteria such as resistance to fire orwind uplift, installation techniques, and accessory products. It is the responsibility of the designer toestablish (and demonstrate to the authority having jurisdiction, upon reques

48、t) that the selected sheet orcombination of sheets is suitable for the intended use.1.2 Classification1.2.1 TypesThe following types of polymer-modified bitumen sheets are covered by this Standard:a) Type A glass-fibre-reinforced polymer-modified bitumen sheets;b) Type B polyester-fibre-reinforced p

49、olymer-modified bitumen sheets; andc) Type C polymer-modified bitumen sheets reinforced with a mat composed of a combination ofglass and polyester fibres.1.2.2 GradesThe following grades of polymer-modified bitumen sheets are covered by this Standard:a) Grades 1 and 2 polymer-modified bitumen sheets intended to be exposed. Grade 1 is surfacedwith mineral granules on the weather side. Grade 2 is either surfaced on the weather side with anyother surfacing providing UV protection (such as factory-applied coating or film) or is unsurfaced;andA
