DESCRIPTION Subscriber dedicated storage (SDS) can be assigned to any subscriber line depending on the service requested. The memory may be subdivided

6、 into individual areas which are specific to individual services. The SDS can contain long-term information, such as conversion tables for - abbreviated dialling; - xed destination calls; - diverting of calls, etc. or information used during the call phase, such as reference information for - three-

7、party service; - call waiting connections, etc. In general, the SDS data can be stored and assigned to the subscriber line: - by the administration; - by the subscriber; - by call processing control. The subscriber has access to the SDS either from the subscribers premises or, in the case of certain

8、 services, from remote premises. The latter type of access may be restricted by the Administration, depending on the line category, the class of service or the date type. 3. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS The different SDS areas may be organized either: - as pool-administered areas or - as areas assigned

9、 on a fixed basis. SDS administered in pool areas is generally used for services which are assigned to a small number of subscribers. Assignment of SDS to subscriber line is flexible and can be changed or removed. For services in great demand the SDS areas should be assigned on a fixed basis to the

10、individual subscribers line (equipment number) or service data. Safeguarding of subscriber data: Permanent and semipermanent subscriber data are protected by multiple means, i.e. they are stored in two mutually independent stores. Note: The studies on this series (T/CS 20) of Recommendations for the

11、 features in an analogue environment has now been terminated. A continuation of the studies has started with the aim to amend these existing features, where necessary, and to specify new features for the ISDN.
