7、grillers and toasters, which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 60335-2-48 (third edition, 2000-03), currently available from IEC in English only. It supersedes the previous edition, published in 1994 as CANKSA

8、-E335-2-48 (adopted CEVIEC 3352-48:1988, including Amendment 1 :1990). This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on International Standards under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Resource Group, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. A list

9、of the members of the Technical Committee is available upon request. This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada. Interpretations: The Strategic Resource Group has provided the following direction for the interpretation of standards under its j

CSA International provides certification services for manufacturers who, under license from CSA, wish to use the appropriate reg

15、istered CSA Marks on certain products of their manufacture to indicate conformity with CSA Standards. CSA Certification for a number of products is provided in the interest of maintaining agreed-upon standards of quality, performance, interchangeability and/or safety, as appropriate. Where applicabl

16、e, certification may form the basis for acceptance by inspection authorities responsible for enforcement of regulations. Where feasible, programs will be developed for additional products for which certification is desired by producers, consumers, or other interests. In performing its functions in a

20、ues, test procedures, and instrumentation frequently must be prescribed by CSA International in addition to the technical requirements contained in Standards of CSA. In addition to markings specified in the Standard, CSA International may require special cautions, markings, and instructions that are

21、 not specified by the Standard. Some tests required- by CSA Standards may be inherently hazardous. 40、ally operated commercial grillers and toasters not intended for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single- phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral, and 480 V for other appliances. Rotary or continuous grillers and toasters and similar appliances intende

41、d for grilling by radiant heat such as rotisseries, salamanders, etc. are within the scope of this standard. NOTE 1 These appliances are used, for example, in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and commercial enterprises such as bakeries, butcheries, etc. The electrical part of appliances making use o

42、f other forms of energy is also within the scope of this standard. So far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by these types of appliances. NOTE 2 Attention is drawn to the fact that - for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft,

43、additional requirements may be necessary; - for appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary; - in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour

44、, the national water supply authorities and similar authorities; - for appliances intended to be used outdoors, additional requirements may be necessary. This standard does not apply to - appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes; - appliances intended to be used in locations where spe

45、cial conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); - continuous process appliances for the mass production of food; - griddles and griddle grills (IEC 60335-2-38). 2 Definitions This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows 2.2.4 Addit

46、ion: NOTE The rated power input is the sum of the power inputs of all the individual elements in the appliance which can be on at one time; where there are several such combinations possible, that giving the highest power input is used in determining the rated power input. -6- 60335-2-48 0 IEC:2000(

47、E) 2.2.9 Replacement: normal operation: Operation of the appliance under the following conditions: Appliances are operated with no load and with any controls intended to be operated by the user set at the maximum. Timers, if provided, are rendered inoperative. If doors, lids, reflectors or drip tray

48、s are provided, they are arranged in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. If no instructions are given, doors are fully open, drip trays are put into the lowest and the grilling grid into the highest possible position. If the appliance cannot be operated without a load, then the manufactu

49、rers instructions are taken into account. Motors incorporated in the appliance are operated in the intended manner under the most severe conditions which can be expected in normal use taking into account the manufacturers instructions. 2.2.101 griller an appliance in which food is cooked by being exposed mainly to radiant heat 2.2.102 toaster an appliance intended exclusively for browning bread and similar products by radiant heat 2.2.103 rotary or continuous griller or toaster an appliance where the product is moved while being grilled or toasted 2.2.104 installation wall a special f
