2、ment is the UK implementation of CEN/TS 16272-7:2015.The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical CommitteeRAE/2, Railway Applications - Track.The UK committee draws users attention to the distinction between normativeand informative elements, as defined in Clause 3 of the CEN/
3、CENELEC InternalRegulations, Part 3. Normative: Requirements conveying criteria to be fulfilled if compliance with thedocument is to be claimed and from which no deviation is permitted. Informative: Information intended to assist the understanding or use of the document. Informative annexes do not c
4、ontain requirements, except as optionalrequirements, and are not mandatory. For example, a test method may containrequirements, but there is no need to comply with these requirements to claimcompliance with the standard. When speeds in km/h require unit conversion for use in the UK, users are advise
5、dto use equivalent values rounded to the nearest whole number. The use ofabsolute values for converted units should be avoided in these cases. 11、 Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 17 August 2015 for provisional application. The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be
12、converted into a European Standard. CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the
13、 CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
