This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2006,

Itspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthepigmentcontentofpaintsinwhichtheproductundertestisashed.The methodisnotapplicabletocoatingmaterialscontainingaluminium,organicpigmentsand/ordyestuffs,orinorganic pigmentstreatedwithorganiccompounds.Suchconstituents,whichcouldmakeupabout10%oft

22、hepigment,will belostduringashing. Asthestateofmanypigmentsandextenderschangesunderthespecifiedtestconditions,itwilldependonthe compositionandthechosenashingtemperaturewhethertheactualpigmentcontentoftheproductundertestcan bededucedfromtheapparentpigmentcontentfoundbythismethod.
