17、ntarytestnotrequiredfor classificationpurposes.Itisintendedforuseprimarilywherewaterleakshavealreadyoccured. Itmayalsobeusedonnewinstallations,whenspecified. Itdescribeshowanareaofcurtainwallingthatisinstalledonabuildingshallbesubjectedtoa continuousfilmofwateroveritsoutsideface Windowsanddoorsincor

22、5 4 Principle Theapplicationofaconstantandspecifiedquantityofwaterinacontinuousfilm,overthe outsidefaceofanareaofcurtainwallinginstalledonabuilding,foragiventimewhile inspectingforwaterleakage. 5 Apparatus 5.1Awaterspraybarwithnozzlesspacedatnotmorethan400mmcentresandsupportedin thecorrectpositionre

23、lativetotheareaofcurtainwalling. 5.2Anadjustabledeviceforsprayingwaterataworkingpressurerangeof2barto3bar,so thataconstantandcontinuousfilmofwatercanbeappliedtotheoutsidesurfaceofthe specimen. 5.3Ameansofmeasuringthetotalamountofwatersuppliedwithinanaccuracyof10%. 5.4 Themainswatersupplyshallbeanacc

24、eptablesourceprovidingitiscleanenoughto allowthespraynozzlestofunctionproperlythroughoutthetest. 6 Testareas Areasofcurtainwallingfortestshallberepresentativeofthetotalareaofcurtainwalling. 7 Preparationsfortest Allowsufficienttimebeforetestingtoensurethatallsealantsachieveanadequatestateofcure Wher

25、enecessaryremoveinternalfinishes,ceilingtiles,floortilesandancillaryworkstoallow satisfactoryinspectionoftheinsidefaceofthecurtainwallingthroughoutthetest. Setupthespraybarsothatthenozzlesare250mmfromtheoutsidefaceofthecurtainwalling andlevelwiththetopoftheareatobetested. Positionthespraybarsothatth

26、eaxesofthewatersprays,astheyexitfromthenozzles,are horizontal. Theorderinwhichdifferentareasaretestedshallprogressfromgroundleveltowardsthetopof thebuilding. 8 Testprocedure 8.1Turnonthewatersupplyandadjusttoprovideaconstantflowfor30min,equivalentto 5l/minpermetrelengthofspraybar,withinanaccuracyof

27、10%. 8.2Inspecttheinsideofthecurtainwallingandnotethepositionandtime,sincespraying began,ofanywaterleakage. 8.3Aftercompletionofthetestcontinuetoinspectforwaterleakagefor30min.EN13051:2001(E) 6 8.4IfwaterleakageisobservedcarryoutproceduresinannexA. 9 Testresults Identifyonelevationaldrawingstheareas

33、valsuntiltheobservedwaterleakagereoccurs. Whenapointofwateringressisidentifiedbythisprocess,resealthelastlengthofjointtobe exposedandcontinuetesting. NOTEToavoiddamagetofinishedmetalsurfaces,greatcareshouldbetakeninthechoiceof waterproofsealingwithparticularattentiontothecompatibilityofthecurtainwal

34、lsurfacefinishandthe adhesivenatureofthesealing.Thesealingshouldberemovedimmediatelyaftertest,particularlywhen exposedtostrongsunlight.EN13051:2001(E) 8 AnnexB (informative) Sitetestwithairpressure B.1Amoreseveresitetestmaybecarriedoutbyapplyingairpressureincombinationwith watersprays,inaccordancewi

B.2Asanalternativetoarigidpressurechambertheinsidesurfaceoftheareaofcurtain wallingtobetestedmaybecoveredwithaclearpolythenesheettoformanairtightchamber. Ensurethatthereiscontinuitybetween
