24、50mm,shallbetakenfromeachboardtobetested. 6.2 Preparingthegrooveinthetestpiece 6.2.1Unfaced panels Acirculargrooveshallbecutintothesurfaceofthetestpieces(seeFigure1)bymeansofamillingtool(5.1). Onhalfofthetestpiecesthisgrooveshallbeononesurfaceoftheboardandontheotherhalfitshallbeonthe othersurface. T

25、hegrooveshallhaveaninsidediameterof35,7 0,2mm(enclosinganareaof1000mm 2 )andadepthof (0,3 0,1)mm. 6.2.2 Overlaidpanels Acirculargrooveshallbecutthroughthecoatingmaterialsothatitjustbreaksthroughintotheunderlyingboard. Thegrooveshallnotpenetratemorethan0,3mmintotheboard.Thegrooveshallhaveaninsidediam

26、eterof 35,7 0,2mm.Ifthepanelhasthesametypeofcoatingonbothsidesthenonhalfofthetestpiecesthegroove shallbeononesurfaceoftheboardandontheotherhalfitshallbeontheothersurface. Ifthepanelhasdifferenttypesofcoatingonitstwosurfacesthen8testpiecesforeachsurfaceshallbeused. 6.3Conditioning Alltestpiecesshallb

27、econditionedtoconstantmassinanatmospherewithapercentagerelativehumidityof (65 5)%andatemperatureof(20 2)Cpriortothebondingofthesteelmushroomshapedpad(5.2)tothe surface.Constantmassisconsideredtobereachedwhentheresultsoftwosuccessiveweighingoperations,car riedoutatanintervalof24h,donotdifferbymoretha

28、n0,1%ofthemassofthetestpiece. 7Procedure 7.1 Bondingthesteelpadtothesurface NOTE1 Thetypeofadhesiveused,thequantityused,andthemannerofapplicationcanallaffectthemeasuredstrengths. Ingeneraluseahotmeltadhesivewithameltingpointunder150C,spreadevenlyacrossthefaceoftheheated steelpad.Thecentringframeisus

29、edtopositionthepadexactlyonthetestpiece.Whilstinthecentringframethe hotpadshallbepressedontothesurfaceofthepieceandheldwithalightpressureof0,1N/mm 2 to0,2N/mm 2 untiltheadhesivehascooledandhardened. Ifthereisaweakeningeffecttothesurfacesoundnessfromtheheatingprocedurewithhotmelts(e.g.inthecase ofdry

30、processfibreboards(MDF)orsomekindsofoverlaidboards)acoldsettingepoxyadhesiveshallbeused insteadofthehotmelt. Iftheboardstobetestedarethinnerthan15 mmthetestpiecesshallbestrengthenedbybondinga 50mm 50mmsteelplateofatleast10mmthicknesstotheirunderside. NOTE2 Whentestingoverlaidboards,inordertoobtainan

31、efficientbondbetweenthesteelpadandthesurfacingmaterialit canbenecessarytopreparethesurfacebysandingorsolventcleaning.EN311:2002(E) 6 7.2 Determinationofforceatfracture Aftertheadhesivehascooledandhardened,thetestpieceshallbeplacedinthegimbal(5.5). Aforceshallbeappliedataconstantspeedsothatfailureocc

32、ursin(60 30)s. Recordtheforceatfailure. Forsurfacedboardsadditionallyrecordthefailuremode: withincoating; within glueline; betweensurfacematerialandunderlyingboard; withinunderlyingboard. Ifmixed,thepercentageofthedifferentfracturemodeshallberecorded. Theresultsfromtestpiecesthatfailwithinthegluelin
