8、dard has been prepared under the direction of the Pressure Vessel Standards Policy Committee and is the English language version of EN286-3:1994 Simple unfired pressure vessels designed to contain air or nitrogen Part 3: Steel pressure vessels designed for air braking equipment and auxiliary pneumat
9、ic equipment for railway rolling stock, published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It supersedes BS3256:1960 which is withdrawn. EN 286-3 was produced as a result of international discussions in which the UnitedKingdom took an active part. A British Standard does not purport to i
10、nclude all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. 19、ard was prepared by CEN/TC54, Unfired pressure vessels, of which the secretariat is held by BSI. This European Standard has been prepared under a Mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements o
20、f the EC Directive(s). CEN/TC 54 decided to submit the final draft for formal vote by its resolution. The result was positive. This Part is one of a series of four. The other Parts are: Part 1: Design, manufacture and testing; Part 2: Pressure vessels for air braking and auxiliary systems for motor
21、vehicles and their trailers; Part 4: Aluminium alloy pressure vessels designed for air braking equipment and auxiliary pneumatic equipment for railway rolling stock. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement,
