It constitutes a revision of BS 6F 47:1983 which is withdrawn. It differs from the previo

7、us edition in that reference to the construction and properties of tapes with obsolescent widths has been transferred to an appendix, and the quality requirements defined in the latest edition of BS F 100 are also included as are details of information to be supplied by the purchaser.WARNING NOTES1)

8、 This standard calls for the use of substances and/or test procedures that may be injurious to health if adequate precautions are not taken. It refers only to technical suitability and in no way absolves either the supplier or the user from statutory obligations relating to health and safety at any

9、stage of manufacture or use.2) This standard specifies pentachlorophenyl laurate (PCPL) as the only approved rot-proofing treatment for aerospace fabrics. Alternative treatments are under development, and this standard will be updated to delete PCPL as soon as an approved alternative treatment for a

12、27 May 200211 ScopeThis British Standard specifies the requirements for cotton tapes for aerospace purposes in a range of widths.NOTE 1 The information to be supplied by the purchaser in the contract or order is listed in Appendix A.NOTE 2 The titles of the publications referred to in this standard

13、are listed on the inside back cover.NOTE 3 The latest revision of an Aerospace Series standard is indicated by a prefix number.2 General requirementsIn addition to the requirements specified in clauses 3, 4, 5 and 6 of this standard, the requirements and tests of the latest edition of BS F 100 as sp

14、ecified in Table 1 shall apply.Table 1 General requirements (given in BS F 100)3 YarnThe tape shall be manufactured from unsized cotton yarns of the following nominal linear densities:a) warp: 2 ply yarn of resultant linear density 20 tex;b) weft: singles yarn of linear density 20 tex.4 Manufacture4

15、.1 The weave shall be plain.4.2 The webbing shall be woven on shuttle looms. Shuttleless constructions shall not be permitted.5 Finish5.1 GeneralThe tape shall be supplied in one of the following conditions:a) loomstate;b) scoured and rot-proofed;c) scoured, dyed and rot-proofed.NOTE The finish requ

20、imit for PCPL content shall be 3.5 %.No other rot-proofing agent shall be permitted.5.3 DyeingWhere dyeing is required, the colour shall be specified by reference to a British Standard, e.g. BS 381C, or otherwise by pattern.NOTE The colour required should be stated in the contract or order (see Appe
