4、paratus Standards Committee. It supersedes some of the requirements given in BS3836-1:1974, which are deleted by amendment. This Section of BS7011 is related to ISO8037-1:1986 “Optics and optical instruments Microscopes Slides Part1: Dimensions, optical properties and marking”, published by the Inte

5、rnational Organization for Standardization (ISO), and differs from the technical requirements of the International Standard in the following respects. Three nominal thicknesses and tolerances (0.9,1.0 and1.1mm 0.1mm) are specified instead of a single thickness range (0.9mm to1.2mm). The tolerance on

6、 the length ismm instead ofmm. The tolerance on the width ismm instead of mm. The other Parts and Sections of this standard are listed in Part0. Purchasers ordering to this standard are advised to specify in their purchasing contract that the supplier operates a quality system in compliance with BS5

7、750-3 to ensure that products claimed to comply with BS7011-2.1 consistently achieve the required level of quality. 11、e of twelve nominal sizes of microscope slides suitable for use for transmitted light microscopy in the visible spectral range. NOTE 1The visible spectral range is defined as being the range from400nm to760nm. NOTE 2The titles of the publications referred to in this Section are listed on the inside

12、back cover. 2 Dimensions The dimensions of the microscope slides shall be one of the sizes given inTable 1 and within the tolerances given inTable 2. 13、ar. 4 Optical properties The microscope slides shall have a principle refractive index (n e ) of1.53 0.02. NOTEThe principle refractive index n e , is the refractive index of light at the green mercury e-line (2 e= 546.07nm, see BS7017). This wavelength is close to the maximum sensitivity of the eye

14、 and has been used as the principal wavelength of optical computation for some time. 5 Marking Each package of microscope slides shall be clearly labelled with the following information: a) the nominal dimensions; b) the makers and/or vendors name or mark; 1) the number and date of this Section of t
