It takes account of Amendment

11、 No. 1,1972 (AMD1064) and of Amendment No.2,1973 (AMD1218). It is being published in a number of separate Sections, as follows. Part 1: Requirements for systems with audible signalling only; Section 1.1: Installation; Section 1.2: Maintenance and records; Part 2: Requirements for systems with remote

15、r.BS4737-3.13:1978 BSI 12-1998 1 1 Scope This British Standard specifies the general requirements for capacitive proximity detectors to be used in intruder alarm systems in buildings. 2 References The titles of the standards publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cov

16、er. 3 Definition For the purposes of this British Standard, the following definition applies in addition to those given in BS4737-1.1 and/or BS4737-2.1. capacitive proximity detector a detection device designed to generate an alarm condition in response to the change (or rate of change) in capacitan

17、ce resulting from the proximity of a person to the protected object 4 Area of coverage 4.1 The device is intended to detect proximity but, as this is a condition difficult to define for the purposes of a test, the test for area of coverage is based on touch by a person. 4.2 The area of coverage is t

18、hat area of the surface of a protected object within which, when touched by a person, the detector generates an alarm condition or signals to a processing device. The installer shall identify the area of coverage in the equipment record (see 7.1 of BS 4737-2.2:1977). NOTEIt should be recognized that

19、 the device may generate an alarm condition when a person approaches closely, but does not actually touch the protected object. 4.3 A method of indication shall be provided to enable the subscriber to check the area of coverage before the system is closed. 5 Test period Except when immediate connect

20、ion is needed for urgent security reasons, or when the detector replaces a similar existing unit, the detector shall not be connected to an alarm system which is extended to the police until the detector has operated in the installation for at least 7 days without generating an unwanted alarm. 6 Pow

21、er supply An alarm condition shall be generated if the voltage of the power supply to the detector is reduced sufficiently to impair the performance of the detector. 7 Environment The requirements of this British Standard shall be met by the detector under any combination of the following environmen

22、tal conditions. 8 Interference The detector shall be adequately protected against any externally-generated radio-frequency interference and/or mains-borne interference which may normally be expected to occur within the working environment. 9 Housing The detector (except the senior itself) and any pr

23、ocessing device shall be housed in one or more containers. It shall not be possible to open the container(s) by the normal means of access without operating an anti-tamper device. If the equipment is housed in separate containers, the interconnection(s) shall be electrically protected. Any means for
