6、Standardization (ISO). It replaces BS 3G 100-4.1.1:1973 which is withdrawn and takes account of international agreement by the Technical Committee TC 20 of ISO in relation to electrical insulation requirements.The standard is part of the composite standard BS 3G 100 in the Aerospace Series of Britis
7、h Standards specifying general requirements for equipment in aircraft. An introduction to the complete British Standard is given in BS 3G 100-0 “Introduction”.This standard should be read in conjunction with BS 3G 100-0 or BS G 229 (see cross-reference) which explain the application of their require
8、ments in relation to individual aerospace equipment standards.Terminology and conventions. The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as a British Standard without deviation. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in Briti
9、sh Standards; attention is drawn especially to the following.The comma has been used as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Wherever the words “International Standard” appear, referring to this standard, they should
10、 be read as “British Standard”.Cross-reference. This standard makes reference to ISO 2650:1974 which has now been withdrawn and replaced by ISO 7137:1981 “Aircraft Environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment”. An identical British Standard to ISO 7137 is BS G 229:1982 “Schedu
11、le for environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment”.A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application.Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer

13、the amendment table on the inside front cover.BS 3G 100-4.1.1:1982 BSI 01-2000 10 IntroductionThe operational safety of electrical equipment for aircraft requires a good quality of insulation and the avoidance of excess voltages. Dimensions and quality of the insulation have to be suitable for the o
14、perating voltages and the effects of climatic conditions encountered, such as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure and surface contamination. The trend to smaller and safer designs can only be realized if the physical properties and the behaviour of the insulation are known and proven by accu
15、rate test procedures.Insulation resistance measurements and high voltage testing have to be considered as two different tests. A high insulation resistance alone does not prove that the insulation is free from defects: cracks, for instance, may exist, provoking voltage flash-overs.0.1 Purpose of hig
16、h voltage testThe high voltage test serves to prove the capability of the insulation to withstand the effects induced by an electrical field.0.2 Purpose of insulation resistance measurementsInsulation resistance measurements serve to prove that electrical equipment has an adequate insulation resista
17、nce capable of preventing leakage currents passing through the insulation from reaching non-permitted values; this applies especially to maintaining the insulation properties under the effects of climatic conditions, such as temperature, humidity and surface contamination.0.3 Purpose of leakage curr
18、ent measurementsThis type of measurement may be applied to equipment where semi-conductors are used. The test voltage is dependent on the rated voltage of the component.1 Scope and field of applicationThis International Standard specifies requirements for tests to determine the electrical insulation
19、 resistance of equipment intended for use in aircraft, together with a high voltage test. It relates the insulation requirements to four categories of equipment.This International Standard does not relate to the insulation testing of equipment installed in aircraft.2 ReferenceISO 2650, Environmental
