6、ed equally between highand low level vents.4.10.4.2.4 Alternative background ventilation provisionsAs an alternative to 4.10.4.2.2 and 4.10.4.2.3, background ventilation shall beprovided by trickle ventilators, installed not less than 1.75 m above finishedfloor level, with the following areas for ro
7、oms containing no flued appliances,other than room sealed, utilizing Method 1 or Method 2, as appropriate.NOTE Trickle vents can be fixed or adjustable.Method 1Wet rooms (including kitchens) 4 000 mm2Other habitable areas (see 3.3) 8 000 mm2Method 2An average provision shall be provided for the resi
8、dential park home equivalentto 6 000 mm2per habitable area (see 3.3) and wet rooms (see 3.5), includingkitchens, with a minimum provision in each room of 4 000 mm2.4.10.4.3 Continuous mechanical ventilationThe continuous mechanical ventilation rate shall be the greater of totalventilation rate given
9、 in Table 2, and the continuous mechanical extraction ratecalculated using the ventilation rate for various rooms given in Table 1.Purge ventilation may be used in separate WCs. Where purge ventilation is usedin the WC, then the ventilation rate for the WC shall be omitted from thecalculation of con
10、tinuous mechanical extraction rate.Air extraction points (terminals) shall be installed in all wet rooms (includingkitchens). In kitchens, a suitable cooker extractor hood, located directly over thecooking appliance may be used as the extraction point. With the exception ofcooker extractor hoods in
11、kitchens, all extraction points shall be located notmore than 0.4 m below the ceiling.Supply of ventilation may be provided by either:a) ventilators with a free area of not less than 2 500 mm2, provided in allrooms, except those from which air is being extracted;b) a mechanical supply ventilation sy
12、stem which is controlled so that itprovides a flow rate equal to the continuous mechanical ventilation rate.Where purge extraction is provided, the supply ventilation shall be capableof providing a balanced supply at all times. Incoming air shall be distributedto all habitable areas.The control syst

14、NDARDBS 3632:20158 The British Standards Institution 2015Automatic boost controls using humidity shall not be used in WCs.Automatic boost controls provided in a kitchen shall ensure that sufficientventilation is provided when cooking with gas or LPG to avoid the build-up ofthe products of combustion
15、.NOTE Automatic boost controls can be controlled by sensors measuring humidity,occupancy, usage or pollutant levels.Manual override controls shall be readily accessible.4.10.4.4 Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR)Where MVHR is provided as a form of ventilation, it shall conform to 4.10.
16、4.3,with the exception of 4.10.4.3a), which does not apply.4.10.4.5 Passive stack ventilationCOMMENTARY ON 4.10.4.5Air flow is facilitated by providing background ventilation openings in the shell ofthe residential park home, supplemented by passive stack ventilators in the wetrooms (see 3.5). Passi
17、ve stack ventilation is unsuitable for residential park homes thatare sited within the range of five times the difference in height between theresidential park home and an adjacent building which is more than 50% taller thanthe residential park home.The required minimum area of background ventilator
18、 openings given inTable 3 shall be provided, unless the air tightness of the residential park home isless than 5 m3/hm2, in which case the minimum area of background ventilatorsin Table 4 shall be provided.NOTE 1 The area of the passive stack ventilators can be subtracted from theminimum area of bac
19、kground ventilators (assume each passive stack ventilator hasan equivalent area of 3 000 mm2).The total equivalent area of background ventilators shall be at least equal tothe total cross-sectional area of all passive stack ventilator ducts.NOTE 2 The opening sizes given in Table 3 and Table 4, toge
20、ther with the passivestack ventilator sizes given in 4.10.4.4 are designed to ensure that indoor air qualityremains within acceptable levels during the peak heating season. It is anticipatedthat purge ventilation will be required to supplement the air change rate providedby these openings during the
21、 spring, summer and autumn.Passive stack ventilators shall be provided in the kitchen, utility room, bathroom,shower room and WCs.
