Type test samples are selected in agreement with the manufacturer or r
、esponsible vendor 3 General test requirements 3.1 The tests described in this standard shall be type tests (see clause2). 3.2 Except where otherwise specified, units shall be tested in an ambient temperature of between10 C and30 C. The units shall be tested as installed in normal use. The lamp type
、recommended by the manufacturer shall be used for the test. Tests shall be made on a single sample unit or, where a range of similar units is involved, on a single unit of each rated wattage in the range or on a representative selection from the range as agreed with the manufacturer. This selection
、shall include the unit, together with any attachments, which represents the most unfavourable combination from a testing point of view. Each sample unit shall pass all the relevant tests. Tests shall be carried out in the order given in Table 1. Table 1 Sequence of tests 4 Conditions of use 4.1 The
、unit shall be designed for use on supply voltages not greater than250V r.m.s. to earth. 4.2 The unit shall not cause radio interference in excess of the requirements of BS800. 4.3 The construction of the unit shall provide for the attachment of an electrostatic screen for the prevention of the modul
、ation of any carrier waves passing through the lamp. NOTE 1The unit should be suitable for use when mounted on flat surfaces, perpendicular walls, poles or fixed or portable structures in a wide range of ambient temperatures and humidities. NOTE 2Due allowance should be made for the effect of solar
、heating, dust and sand, heavy rain, ice, snow, corrosive atmospheres and wind speeds of up to160km/h, in an ambient temperature range of between20 C and+50 C. NOTE 3The unit should be designed so that the operating conditions may be determined visually by an observer at ground level or by electrical

NOTEAll optical components should be easily replaceable and should be designed or marked so as to inhibit incorrect assembly. 6 Fastening of covers 6.1 Covers that are required to be opened or removed for maintenance purpos
、es, e.g.for lamp changing, shall be secured by fastenings which may be operated without the use of tools made specifically for the purpose. These fastenings shall be captive. 6.2 Where a voltage in excess of250V is required for normal operation of the light source, either provision shall be made for
、 an electrical interlock for the isolation of the supply voltage, or a suitable warning notice shall be fixed to the cover. 7 Mounting 7.1 Requirements 7.1.1 Where the mass of parts exceeds2kg or their volume exceeds0.1m 3provision shall be made for the attachment of a lifting device or safety rope.
