Scope1.1 This specification covers flexible shee
3、t made fromethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) intended for usein single-ply roofing membranes exposed to the weather. Thetests and property limits used to characterize the sheet arevalues to ensure minimum quality for the intended use. Thesheet may be non-reinforced, fabric- or scrim-reinfor
4、ced, orfabric-backed vulcanized rubber sheet.1.2 In-place roof system design criteria, such as fireresistance, field seaming strength, material compatibility, anduplift resistance, among others, are factors that must beconsidered but are beyond the scope of this specification.1.3 The values stated i
5、n either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.4 This s

Classification3.1 Types describe the sheet construction:3.1.

Materials and Manufacture4.1 The sheet shall be formulated from EPDM polymers andother compounding ingredients. EPDM shall be the principalpolymer used in the sheet and shall be greater than 95

United States14.2 To make seams and repairs, the sheet shall be capable ofbeing b
16、onded watertight to itself and the supplier or fabricatorshall recommend suitable methods.5. Physical Properties and Tolerances5.1 The sheet shall conform to the physical requirementsprescribed in Table 1.5.2 The tolerance for time conditions (aging, weathering,and so forth) is 615 min or 61 % of th
17、e period; whichever isgreater, unless otherwise specified.5.3 Tolerances for temperature shall be 62C 64F.6. Dimensions6.1 The width and length of the sheet shall be agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier.6.1.1 The width and length tolerance shall be +3 %, 0 %.6.2 The thickness tolerance
18、shall be +15 %, 10 % of thethickness agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier, butin no case shall the thickness be less than the minimum listedin Table 1.7. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance7.1 The sheet, including the full width of factory seams ifpresent, shall be fully adhered, watertigh
19、t, and visibly free ofpinholes, particles of foreign matter, undispersed raw material,or other manufacturing defects that might affect serviceability.If the number of irregularities in the form of pockmarks (seeNote 1) appear excessive on the sheet (or portion thereof), thenits rejection shall be ne
20、gotiated between involved parties.7.2 Edges of the sheets shall be straight and flat so that theymay be seamed to one another without fishmouthing.NOTE 1Pockmarks are oblong depressions, cavities, or craters on thesurface of the sheet that have an approximate surface dimension of 3.2 by1.6 mm 18 by1
21、16 in., and have a maximum depth approaching one halfof the sheet thickness.8. Test Methods8.1 DimensionsTest Methods D751, after permitting thesheet to relax at 23 6 2C 73.4 6 4F for 1 h 6 15 min.8.2 Thickness, Sheet OverallFrom across the full width ofthe unbuffed sheet, take three samples, 300 by
22、 300 mm 1 by1 ft. Measure the thickness of each corner. On fabric backed(Type III) the coating thickness can be measured after cuttingor buffing fabric from the rubber. Refer to Test Method D412for Type I sheet and Test Method D751 for Type II and Type IIIsheet.8.3 Thickness of Coating Over Scrim (R
