Scope*1.1 This specification covers ethyl acrylate (99 % grade) foruse in paint, varnish, lacquer, and related products.1.2 The following applies to all specified limits in th

3、isstandard; for purposes of determining conformance with thisstandard, an observed value or a calculated value shall berounded off “to the nearest unit” in the last right-hand digitused in expressing the specification limit, in accordance withthe rounding-off method of Practice E29.1.3 The values st

Lower levelsare not recommended for safety reasons.NOTE 1Instrumental Pt-Co color determined by Test Method D 5386have been shown to have no statistically significant difference from Pt-Cocolor determined by Test Method D 1209. However, it is not knownwhether ethyl acrylate was part o

11、f the sample set included in theinterlaboratory study.4. Precaution4.1 Ethyl acrylate samples should be stored in amber bottlesor protected from light by other means to aid in preventingpolymerization. Keep samples away from heat sources andchemicals that can cause free radical polymerization. Ethyl

Sampling5.1 The material shall be sampled in accordance withPractice E 300. (See Precaution Section 4.)6. Test Methods6.1 The properties enum

16、erated in this specification shall bedetermined in accordance with the following ASTM methods:6.1.1 PurityTest Method D 3362.6.1.2 WaterTest Method D 1364.6.1.3 ColorTest Method D 1209 (see Note 1).6.1.4 AcidityDetermine the acidity in accordance withTest Method D 1613, except multiply the results o

17、btained “asacetic acid” by 72.06/60.05 or 1.4. This will convert the resultsobtained to “as acrylic acid.” The results obtained “as mg KOHper gram of material” are unaffected.6.1.5 Methyl Ether of Hydroquinone ContentTest MethodD 3125.7.
