Significance and Use4.1 This specification sets the maximum permissible cash-mere coarse-hair content for cashmere in the form of roving,yarn, or fabric.4.2 When agreed upon by parties in interest,

7、 this specifica-tion provides a basis for acceptance testing of roving, yarn, orfabric of cashmere, or blends of cashmere and other fibers insuch products.5. Specification for Cashmere5.1 The cashmere coarse-hair content of cashmere in theform of roving, yarn, or fabric shall not exceed 0.7 % byleng

8、th.NOTE 2Extensive interlaboratory tests have shown that when thecashmere coarse-hair content exceeds 0.7 % by length, the correspondingpercentage by mass of cashmere coarse-hair in the product generallyexceeds 3.0 %. 9、mmittee D13 of ASTM.6. Test Method6.1 Determine the coarse-hair content as directed in TestMethod D 2816.7. Number of Tests7.1 Except in case of dispute, make a single test for thedetermination of the cashmere coarse-hair content of cashmereas directed in Test Method D 2816.7.2 In case of dispute, m

10、ake two additional tests for cash-mere coarse hair content on different samples and base thedecision on the majority result.8.
