Scope*1.1 This specification covers the range of products com-monly referred to as hexanes, which find uses in the prepara-tion of adhesives, coatings, and printing inks,

3、 as raw materialsin chemical synthesis operations, and as solvents in variouskinds of extraction operations.1.2 The following applies to all specified limits in thisstandard; for purposes of determining conformance with thisstandard, an observed value or a calculated value shall berounded off “to th

4、e nearest unit” in the last right-hand digitused in expressing the specification limit, in accordance withthe rounding-off method of Practice E 29.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard. Test Methods5.1 The properties enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined in accordance with the following ASTM testmethods:5.1.1 An

17、iline PointTest Methods D611.5.1.2 Apparent Specific GravityDetermine apparent spe-cific gravity by any method that is accurate to the third decimalplace, the temperature of both specimen and water being15.6C. See Guide D 268. If measurement is by hydrometer,the instrument must be calibrated at the

18、test temperature.5.1.3 Benzene ContentTest Method D 4367.5.1.4 Bromine IndexTest Method D 2710. Bromine indexis defined as the number of milligrams of bromine which willreact with a 100 g sample under test conditions.5.1.5 ColorTest Method D 156 or D 1209 (see Note 1). Incase of dispute, Test Method
